Hello,
I’m experiencing critical performance issues while playing Hearthstone Battlegrounds. Despite having high-end hardware, the game consumes excessive system resources and eventually causes a full system shutdown.
System Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7600
RAM: 64 GB DDR5
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Storage: Game installed on SSD
Issue Details:
GPU usage stays locked at 99–100% throughout Battlegrounds matches.
CPU usage reaches 70–80%, even when idle in the Battlegrounds lobby.
After several minutes of play, the system becomes increasingly unstable and eventually crashes, causing a complete shutdown.
This issue does not occur in Standard, Wild, or other game modes.
Temperatures spike, and fan speeds increase drastically during matches.
Troubleshooting Attempted:
Updated AMD GPU drivers (tried multiple recent versions).
Reinstalled Hearthstone completely — no change.
Scanned and repaired game files via Battle.net client.
Tried various resolutions and graphics settings — no effect.
Tested fullscreen, borderless, and windowed modes — no difference.
Disabled all background apps and overlays.
Set Hearthstone.exe to “High Performance” in Windows graphics settings.
The game appears to be stressing the GPU in an abnormal way specific to Battlegrounds mode, leading to a hard crash. This needs urgent attention, as it risks hardware damage through thermal or power instability.
