Big mathematical problem in Hearthstone Battlegrounds

Hello, I am an elderly player of Classic Hearthstone who has abandoned this game mode for quite some time now, but for at least 3-4 years, I have been playing only Battlegrounds.

I don’t know if you have also encountered this issue, but every time a card is ‘tripled’ to make it golden, the values of the card are distorted.

Let’s pretend we take a card that has 3 attack and 3 defense. Once we manage to obtain the third copy of the card to make it golden, we don’t get a golden 9/9 card but rather a 6/6 card, which mathematically renders the calculation incorrect; or take the ‘Freedealing Gambler’ card, when this minion is sold, it gives 3 coins, making this card golden (with 3 copies of ‘Freedealing Gambler’). In total, we should get 9 coins, but we only get 6. Another example is a basic Minion X with its Battlecry giving 1 minion, and if you make the golden Minion X, it gives 2 minions instead of 3.

Honestly, aside from some minor flaws in this mode, these kinds of mathematical errors/horrors bother me a lot and often make me want to completely quit the game (because currently, the Battlegrounds mode has been the only thing keeping me playing Hearthstone for a while).

I’m curious to know your opinion on this matter and would like to know if I’m the only one bothered by these things or not.

That is how goldens are supposed to work in the mode.

Well tripling only means that the card becines 1 and does not take 2 separate slots, like when you had only 2 on the board/hand. The end result is the combined stats of the 2 copies with highest stats. For example if you had 1 copy with 4/4, 1 copy with 5/5 and you buy one from the tavern with 10/10 it will result in golden one with 15/15. but if you buy one with 3/3 you will get a golden with 9/9. Tripling means combining the two you already had, not litteraly tripling the result.

This is explitable with some builds that due to order of triggerable opperations sometimes multiplies the multiplication not the result.

If you have the ape, and mama bear, beasts sometimes end up with hundreds of stats , which means that the system does not multiply the stats but the whole multiplication process.

you summon beast with 2/2 it gets 5/5 from the mama bear and becomes 7/7 then the ape doubles it stats and becomes 14/14 but no, most of the time it becomes 40/40 which is very wierd math and no matter how calculate it it does not add up to 40/40, even if you have more apes and more mama bears, or if they are golden, summoned beasts become in high hundreds, which is way off from any math, i’ve studied in university.
