Does the wording of making character immune mean, that it is immune to damage as the tool tip implies or as it interracts in the game? I wanted to ask this because I was faced against some Jailer + Malganis warlock, which pulled immune everything act on me. The deck is ok by itself with all the effort he has to pull to get in that point, but can you update the tool tip of immune, if it really means you CAN’T INTERRACT with the immune target? I tried to return Jailer or Mal’ganis to his hand, but I was stopped with the message “target is immune”. This is not, what the tool tip “immune to damage” implies. So would nice to know, if this is intentional (so it could be updated to the tool tip) or is this a bug.
The current tooltip for immune reads:
“Immune characters can’t be targeted by enemies or damaged.”
You tried to return a specific minion to hand, but in order for that to work, you had to target it. Which, as the tooltip says, is not possible.
I’m not sure why you think the tooltip only mentions immunity to damage.
And I believe the current wording is fine.
Note that untargeted cards like e.g. Vanish or Sahket Sapper, can still return immune minions to hand. Just as for example Soulstealer will destroy all minions, including immune ones; and Deadly Shot may destroy an immune minion if that is the randomly selected target.
Well… Hovering over the card in the middle of the game just says “Immune can’t be damaged”. Good to know it is intentional. If the description is in card collection that is all fine, but mid duel seeing something like that makes you think “why can’t I do legal counterplay?”
By any chance can you show where it is writen like that? Just for future notice if there is some troubles with rulings.
For my reply, I had copied and pasted the tooltip text from the Hearthstone Wiki.
https://hearthstone.fandom.com/wiki/Immune
That is not an official Blizzard site. But my experience is that the information on those pages is usually correct.
In this case, it isn’t. I just checked in the game, and you are right: the actual tooltip displayed merely mentions “Immune characters can’t be damaged”.
According to the wiki change, this was an old text, that was replaced by what I quoted in 2022. But it seems that change didn’t work as planned, or was reverted later.
