Cant connect using mobile data [O2 UK]

Im on IOS latest version using ipad air2 , cant connect using 4g mobile data , but can stream browse etc , when i switch to wifi it loads no problem, im tearing my hair out here trying to figure this out. any suggestions?? i have also reinstalled and restarted ipad , im on o2 network.

Yes I’m getting the same on Samsung S10.

The game works with wifi but wont connect with 4G.

I can only get it to work with 4G if I connect with wifi first or if i use a VPN.

I my network is Giffgaff who use O2 and I have unlimited data.

I have tried all the usual things e.g clear cache, reinstall, restart phone etc.

Currently legendary this month and been playing since it started, finding this very frustrating.

As title. Game loads past blizzard logo to tavern doors and just hangs there. Hearthstone logo doesnt come up. Blue stone above doors doesnt light up. I have tried clearing data and cache. Restarted phone multiple times. Uninstalled restarted and reinstalled several times. No change. Has been like this for coming up to 7 hours. Android on a Samsung for reference.
Is it an isolated issue or are servers down? Cant find any info anywhere or contact Blizz directly. Support page just sent me here.

Can’t login on iOS either , weird coincidence

Hi folks! There doesn’t appear to be any service issues currently.

Please try logging in on a desktop machine, wating 60 seconds, logging out, then logging in on your phone.

If the issue persist, follow these steps:

Unfortunately I do not have access to a desktop at this time. I have followed all of the mobile app troubleshooting to no success. Interestingly on reinstalling the app it allowed me to download the update using cellular data, which I am also using to comment here, but still froze at the same point after completing download so it does not appear to be a network issue.
Is the app essentially unusable until I can get access to a desktop and try your other suggestion?

Also just seen ‘Prodigy’ has created a thread saying the same thing but for iOS and interestingly we are both using the o2 network for 4g

yea same problem on O2 UK, oneplus 6

Just as an update tried logging in and out of laptop to reset account on phone and that didnt work. Having spoken to o2 customer support they gave quite a bit of techno jargon but when asked to simplify they have said that blizzard servers aren’t accepting the connection between the two server networks.

yeah its definately something to do with either O2 or blizzard as i connected fine with wifi and when i switched sims to EE it also connected, its just O2, this is highly annoying.

Left it overnight but still not connecting. Been going on for nearly 24 hours. Doesnt appear to be a way to raise a ticket for HS connectivity so raised under wow instead

If you are still having issues with this can I get you to provide some more information please.

  • confirm uninstall/reinstall
  • Where possible confirm if it works from another internet connection
  • Your HS version currently installed
  • Device model + OS version
  • Perform a looking glass test through phone browser - https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/34785

Still having the issue.

  1. I can confirm uninstall/reinstall
  2. Works from my laptop and phone at home on a different network. Another user with same issue has reported different phone network works.
  3. Lists version of HS from playstore as 17.2.48705. As stated before it downloaded updated on reinstall.
  4. Samsung Galaxy S9 Andriod G960FXXS9DTD7/G960FOXM9DTD7/G960FXXS9DTD7
  5. Looking Glass test gave these results:

Have you tried using wifi ?

Is it the same problem as this ?

I can get it to work with 4G if I login with wifi first or use a VPN

I’m having the same problems as draka on Giffgaff which uses 02 network can only load up the game with WiFi or VPN then if I disconnect them Mobile data takes over and lets me continue playing.

Can connect with wifi but as soon as I switch to 4g it disconnects me. Slightly irrelevant with the number of times this disconnects normally anyway. I use mobile app and 4g as I usually play while travelling/ on break at work so not always a wifi to ‘start up’ on.
Not had any problem like this until 3/4 days.

Has this been resolved? I’m experiencing the exact same issues on GiffGaff, haven’t been able to play on 4G for over 2 weeks now!

Hey Ipoodytang,

Can I please ask that you add the information requested by Schwayjeck?

And if truecake, Draka, Wildstorm (or indeed anyone else affected by this) could do the same that would be much appreciated! I understand it’s asking a lot, but this is essential in order for us to be able to investigate further.

Given that the issue looks to be isolated to O2, I’d strongly recommend you contact them directly as well to let them know.

Thanks all!

Hey, my hearthstone app won’t load on 4G, my iPhone is up to date and so is the game. In 4G it goes to the blizzard screen then goes to the tavern but stays on that screen, if I turn wifi on while on the tavern screen it still doesn’t load. On the other hand, when I load the game through wifi and then switch over to 4G the game works fine. It seems to be the initial launch on 4G that doesn’t work. Any help will be much appreciated

Final paragraph from email from Blizzard after submitting a ticket linking this forum, note the lack of mention of any timeline for completion.
*It looks like you have tried all the work arounds that I can see other players have listed on the forums, so thanks for looking into all your options before contacting us.

It’s very likely this one is bugged and due to the technical reasons of the issue we are unable to complete this until there is a fix for all those effected.*
