After hours of trying almost anything (except fabric reset my phone), I found the solution. Enter in Apps, enter Hearthstone’s app info, and there allow notifications. And at the “Set on default”, select “in other app”. For me it worked. I hope will work for you as well 
Ya this works. To think its so simple when people were factory resetting their phones to get around this
None of the above workrd for me but by playing around with all of this I found a new solution and I hope it works for everyone.
I was following a previous comment and linked my Google account to my BNet account. From there, none of the “login” attempts successfully rerouted me back to the app from the browser, so I was still stuck. Instead, I chose “Sign Up” instead of “Login” and I selected my Google account that I previously linked. Everything synched up and it logged me right into my BNet account in the app.

Hi, there’s solution:
Link your account to any other platform google or whatever you like. Enter the game, and simply click register. Then choose registration with whatever you’re linked in. Game gonna crash, because you’re trying to register already registered account. After reopening it you will be logged in to earlier connected account.

Yeah none of these methods work. The bug happens because the game closes when the browser opens to log in. I’ve tried everything and nothing works, I’m about to just say screw this game and delete it

More than year later, advice with linking Google account is very helpful! It’s nice to see the bug existing without problems for two years<3
It is not working for me. I connect my account with steam and login to battlenet website is working via steam (as you see Im writing), but when Im trying login to hearthstone using steam, it’s says, ‘authentication faild’.
I dont have google account to try with gmail.
Blizzards do you not give a crap about people wanting to play your game and potential giving you money? How is this a year long issue. You guys I bet are wondering why AAA is crashing and burning while Indie owns the market. This is why, you guys show countless times you don’t care about us. I can’t sign in to my account on an android Device because of your lack of care to fix this for players wanting to play your game. Ridiculous.
So what worked for me is going to settings and tap switch acc that makes you switch region then connect to america or whatever other region then login once you changed region and then switch back to your region and connect again hope this helps !

I found a solution but it may not be to the original issue in this thread.
Upon installing hearthstone I was prompted to log in via link to the us server, which is a problem because I play on the eu server, and it is impossible to change the log in link to match the one of my preferred server, so I proceeded to log in to the us server and I changed the region later in game. However this was not my main account (must have been a random account I created the last time I had this access issue).
After this point, the game made it impossible to log in to a different account after logging out of the wrong one and would just throw me in the loop described by op (log in button>open battle.net in browser>successfully log in>display account info and get stuck in browser>reopen game>stay stuck without log in.
I assumed the original us server log in was the problem, so I cleared cache and data from the game, changed my language settings to a european language (as it was set to English US previously) and tried over. This time around the game prompted eu server link and I logged in without issues to my desired account and everything worked as expected.
Again, not sure if this addresses the original issue, but maybe it helps someone with a similar one
I solved it with my android tablet, open the game. then do not log in and go to options and switch your account from Europe to Asia or America. The game will restart and ask you to login press login and enjoy playing with your account. Do the process again if you want to play in Europe server.

I also just found a fix. While my game was open i went to the app settings in my phone and deleted cache and data. Went back in and had a different log in format. Worked after that but had to re-download some data.
i have had this issue for some time and trying to find the work around i found it and at the same time may not be the fix for you but this is what i found out … IF your phone has the feature called secure folder or something related to it … you must disable it and you must go into your battle.net account and do a manual connect of your google account … the hearthstone game using the file system to save the much needed files to keep your game going. when the phone’s security is very tight aka secure folder your hearthstone game needs access to this and without it it cant save your log information to restore your account to the game. Please look into your phone settings in the security section and find this feature and disable it. there is no easy way to have this on and use the game. Because android would half to be re-coded to have easy folder access for games… . Problem Solved
