Help me understand why you main a class

I’ve noticed that some of you main a class. I’ll admit the idea of having one main class is completely alien to me and I’ll go as far as also admitting this is due to my personal ignorance.

So, help me out here: why do you main a class? I’m genuinely curious about it.

I genually have no idea

My main classes are Warlock and Warrior.

I love Zoo and Aggro/Tempo decks.

I also played both as controllversions but the tempo stuff feels more rewarding.

For ne its more that i font play whats played by every one else.

Like i enjoyed Hunter before everyone played midrange last rotation.

As soon as everyone gad a rexxar in his deck it just wasnt for me.

Like i didnt play Paladin last rotation but i love bazookadin, villian Palla and Healpala right now.

Sometimes i think im like an unvolutary hipster…

I just dont enjoy the decks everyone plays…

Im wierd…

Also i font like decks that do nothing but not loose and only play defensive…

Not controll but something like taunt druid… bäh

Dust all cards that don’t belong to that one class in order to have all that class’ cards, or just focus on playing one class?

I assumed the later…

Why you would fo the dust thing us beyond me

I’ve seen those people out there, shouting on a street corner holding a piece of cardboard…

Eh, I only play Warlock in Standard now, because it’s the only standard deck I like. Had the same with Paladin a while back. It’s not really maining a class though, but more like only playing decks I have lots of fun with. To be fair though, I can usually have fun with at least one Warlock deck in each expansion.

Why i main a class would be based on if i made a good deck and im trying to get wins in competitive, other than that i basically will play any class as long as i came up with a fun deck for me to use for it and i can pick it.
As of right now my mains for comp are priest (its deathrattle based and has a lot of silences) and hunter (spell hunter with 4 beasts in the deck, workes pretty well)

I see most of you are saying “I main X now”. That’s not really maining a class. In that context I main Shaman now. The question is not the local decision but rather players that, by default, play exclusively (or almost exclusively) one class.

Honestly, I don’t really ‘main’ anything. Admittedly Mage has my highest portion of wins by a clear margin (800 wins more than my next highest Priest) but that’s largely down to the fact that I played a LOT of mage when I first started playing so I wouldn’t classify myself as a mage mainer as I’ve branched out a lot from it since then. I’m playing secret hunter in this meta, played dragon priest in the last and have, historically, had a lot of success with shaman and warlock too. I find that versatility is the key to success.

are such individuaIs in here?

I guess so, I was only aware of maining because I read in the forums “I main X”.

Does ‘I main weird stuff’ count as well?

Eh, I don’t really MAIN stuff.

I’ve been taught too well the value of being a flex player.

I like certain classes like Warlock, Paladin and Shaman, but I’m a fairly flexible guy with a fairly flexible f2p collection.

i main Hunter prob just because i got hunter dk card for free back in the day and started playing him the most. I dust other classes to afford crafting decks and improving them. I just like the trio of hunter - beasts, deathrattle, secrets, tried other classes but they’re not my thing

I main Hunter for a few reasons:

  1. I like the class fantasy.
  2. Hunter has been the most diverse class in the game due to bigger number of viable, and fun, deck archetypes for the past couple of years.
  3. Hunter decks and matches are usually fast due to the aggressiveness of the class. No 30 minute long matches like with Warrior currently.
  4. I like the color green.

I imagine it’s because they like the style of the class and it’s a way to have “everything” without paying or excess grinding.

The fact that 8/9 of my classes have between 500 and 700 wins, with Druid being near 300…outlast Druid is a very slow deck  shows how much I shake it up. I really should make a Druid deck that uses Pyro shenanigans as I really like using him in Priest and Warrior. Still wouldn’t be fast, but quicker than the Mill/Taunt/Horse Druid I current play in wild.

Horse Druid? Now I’m interested.

Against decks that can’t be fatigued (Jade Druid), I make Multiple Malornes to bash their face in whilst their ever increasing green men, bash their heads against my taunt wall over and over.

I main Rogue, I dunno why, there’s just something about the class that is just much more appealing than all the other classes…

unknown person - Boobs.
