Greetings!
Ever since the new expansion came out, the mobile version in-game chat hasn’t been working properly. While I’m in the menu, the chat works as it should. But, as soon as I get into a match be it a regular game or battlegrounds it starts malfunctioning.
Normally, when you receive a message from a friend a small bubble pops up to the side of your screen displaying its content. Now, although the notification sound still plays, the chat bubble no longer appears. You have to manually open the chat to see what was written.
The way this issue behaves makes it seem as an intentional change. Since you could argue that a phone’s screen is rather small and messages covering it could be detrimental in a match. If that’s the case, this does more harm than good.
I play battlegrounds duo quite often with my friend. It is a huge disadvantage to not be able to see the messages sent to me in real time there. We have lost several matches due to that problem. Audio cues are easy to miss, so I have to constantly open and close the chat to see if I missed anything. Which is very annoying and distracting to do.
In regular matches it’s just as bad. I just want to see what my friends have to say when they spectate me. Not to have to check every time.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue? I hope it gets fixed or at least that we’re given the option to opt out if it was an intentional change.
