Try waiting at main screen where it shows the dailys and dont click anything for a few mins… some blue dev said that might work or try logging into another realm asia europe etc… idk if it works im about to find out
Facing the same issue, even after yesterdays update… they were suppose to fix the bug and crash, bit still i get the same message as you. Been 2 week waiting for them to fix this

We are still working on the patch to solve this, however, there is an additional workaround you can try which is to connect to the game using a Hotspot created with a mobile phone.
Note that using your phone as a mobile tether will use your phone plan’s data and can incur a significant cost, so do the following only if you accept this. Blizzard does not support mobile phone configurations nor recommend playing using this method, this is just to see if you can quickly sort the problem and switch back to your normal connection.
- Ensure your phone supports mobile hotspot and that you have data available with your cellphone plan
- Disconnect your mobile phone from your local wifi
- Using your phone’s settings, turn on your mobile hotspot
- Using a USB cable or your computer’s wifi adapter, connect to your cellphone’s network
- Launch Hearthstone and browse the Collection in-game, at this point you shouldn’t get any errors.
- Log out completely from the game
- Switch back to your normal connection and log back in Hearthstone to test if the problem is still there

I have tried all possible work arounds and nothing seems to work. Please fix or advise.
I had this issue last week and an update fixed it. Seems to have been reintroduced as I am getting this message again today. Samsung galaxy tab a6 android 8.1.

I switched to US, waited for 2 minutes, got the introduction etc.
Switched back to EU and here come the error ‘closed’.
Re-installed the game, repeated , same issue.
I haven’t played Hearthstone for about half a year , maybe I should not play more.

If you can get to the daily quest screen, wait for 2-3 minutes before continuing.
That helped me.
And for the month I was able to move on to the mobile net.
It’s a bit stupid, but it has been working since then.
Changing the region did not use anything for me, its completely false info.
what if we don’t get to the daily quest screen?
I get to see my rank for the previous month of play and BAM network problem loading cards.
the switching of servers didn’t help wither 
It helped me then to log in via mobile internet, then I picked up the rewards for my monthly placement and has been working on a pc since then. Try it through a mobile app and then on a computer.
Sadly I get the same on mobile too
literally unplayable for me
yeah two weeks this has been going on… it takes about an hour to log in after multiple crashes as soon as my pc hits the main menu.
