This game is about to die

Agreed, with the note that the large games aren’t Candy Crush but games like PUBG, Clash of Clans, and the like. I reckon that Hearthstone should be compared with these to whom 40M unique weekly active users is a good goal. Some of the games I work on do that in a couple of days. However, Hearthstone may be a mobile first game, but Blizzard is not a mobile first company for sure.

Pressing X on that too

game is old, ok, that has it’s benefits, but also leads to decline in interest. For a 5 year old game, HS is healthy AF, not even considering that practicaly it made CCGs mainstream.

 I knew you would say something like that. Well, me too, just for the know-how, as it could be compared to their activites and backward engineer the strategies implemented and the reasoning behind some of their marketing decisions. That would be valuable

Sadly, blizzard is just too good in setting the bar waaaaaaay to high. All other games since HS release - on all platforms (yes, including all card games in steam, that only took a shot and then diead) never ever came even close to be as good and accessible as HS.

Agree, not coming at you, bro, was just thinking that there were two campaigns that promoted people creating alts to solo take it. Shaman hero portrait and Lock hero portrait, so we can asume that at least 40% of all accaunts ever created are alts.

That sounds about right, if they include ppl who login at least once/m

Those “casual” games, seem so distant to me, yet I can see in subway a lot of females doing them, much more then ppl playing a AAA mobile, so I can hipotese on the actual number of such players.

Erm 100 million players not active, also if you actually pay attention to activisions end of year reports, no blizzard games are not doing well, diablo is not popular? Fan boy nonsense to try and make your argument better when every single proper report will show that other than wow (boost in popularity due to vanilla) actvision are losing players and money compared to what they were. I mean they just let go of 1000’s of staff, what company doing well does this.

I am not saying hearthstone is dying or its a terrible game before you get fanboy enraged but stip spouting nonesense when even a quick check on google proves you wrong

negation of negation… with other words you have just say exactly the same thing as the person you are referring to.

They don’t have the numbers they had in the past, not even close. What i’m curious do you guys have the information that would indicate that this is not blizzard plan all along?

Firstly, there are a MULTITUDE of reasons why companies let staff go. Maybe they closed a department that wasn’t meeting expectation…who knows… big games companies cancel projects all the time, and it often results in games developers being surplus to requirements, just look at the Titan project that Blizzard cancelled several years ago, even though it had been in development for 5 years.

Secondly, I take it you haven’t seen their year end accounts for the 2018 financial year

https://investor.activision.com/static-files/5b87a908-81d3-4c0f-bfe3-3924141b75b6

I refer to page 7 where you can see their annual reported net profit for last year was $1.8 billion.

Or even better, lets look at the 6 month accounts for 2019 so far…

https://investor.activision.com/news-releases/news-release-details/activision-blizzard-announces-second-quarter-2019-financial

If you’d care to scroll down a bit you can see that for the 6 month period ended June 2019 compared to June 2018 they reported an operating profit before tax of $937 million, only $38 million less than the same period last year which is a drop in profit of less than 5%. Yeah, the net income was $773 million compared to $902 million the year before, but you may also notice that’s largely because they paid $90 million more in tax. And before you try to be smart and point out that turnover was down on last year, that’s largely because WoW’s latest expansion was being released in August last year, compared to this year where no major release has taken place so of course there is going to be a down turn in turnover between the years, but also notice that gross expenditure was also down significantly as well due to the same reasons resulting in, as previously pointed out, almost identical net profits before tax.

So please, continue to tell me how Blizzard is “losing money”?

I have quit few times, now only came back coz I can play this game with phone during work trips. Net-decking and everyone playing the same deck is killing this game. Ridiculous cards breaking the game like shudderwock etc.

What the F man? Lore? HS doesn’t have anything even remotely resembling a lore  Also it is even brutally breaking and ignoring WoW lore  while trying to look like it is following it…

Demon hunter minions are demon? like Antaens? or Fiends?  Demon hunters despise demons and only demons they have in their ranks are Shivarra
