In HotS I have set my refresh rate to 144 hz. Still the game renders at 300+ fps making my GPU hotter than needed.
I tried the solution provided here https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/32248 but that does not help.
I have a Ryzen 3700x and an Nvidia 2070 super. I have the latest Nvidia driver. My Gsync monitor supports up to 144 hz but I do not see the point in rendering faster than that.
How do I limit the amount of frames being rendered to 144 or similar?

Hi Onklen! It seems this setting hasn’t been working for a while for higher FPS caps than 60, however, you may be able to adjust it manually in the Settings Text file which should be located here: Documents/Heroes of the Storm/Variables.txt
The setting from the support article is the only one that seems to work.

Thank you but I already tried that to no effect. At least not with the same line as mentioned in the above link.
Should I add something else to Variables.txt?
As I mentioned, I don’t think it can be adjusted in the way you want currently reading through things. It seems to have been a client change that’s changed the FPS limits.
For now we would recommend that you make a post on the Bug Report forums: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/heroes/c/bug-report/14
It would likely need a correction through an ingame patch.
