I can’t play any game mode. They all say: “this play mode is currently disabled”.
I looked it up and tried everything I could find.
- uninstall and reinstall in a different folder
- Change Ip
- remove cache
- reset in-game options
- remove Battle. net folders in ProgramData
This has been going on for 3 days now. I can start up the tutorial. I asked a friend and he can still play the game.

Good morning SkyFloRim,
Try and delete the Variables.txt from the Documents\Heroes of the Storm file path. Once done, open the Blizzard Desktop App and click the blue logo at the top left. Click on Settings and from the new window, click on Game Settings. Find Heroes of the Storm, and click on Reset In-Game Options.
Once done, start the game up again and test it out.

didn’t work. still gives me the same problem. I did use try mode and it worked perfectly.

Opened all ports needed but the problem still persists.

same problem, from indonesia, playing in americas region.
connection started getting slow in march 2025, and presently at 08.04.2025 can no longer play game, permanently on please wait game mode currently unavailable.
already did all the steps mentioned in google searches including modem/router reset, scan/repair HOTS, uninstall/reinstall HOTS/battlenet, DNS flush, google DNS, firewall reset.
of note is, playing at a different region works. i tried asia and it can load and the start game button is clickable, but playing there means starting from 0 and will lag more, so i dont want to.
any new info on solving this issue please?
