Greetings,
since about 1 month I have the issue that my computer crashes almost every time directly after the loading screen when a game starts. I usually see the map for half a second and before the heroes appear the screen turns black or some other color. Sound from other apps in the background is still working but nothing else so all I can do is force-shut down the computer.
When I restart the computer I can usually rejoin the running game and dont’ have any issues during the rest of the game. Sometimes, the game starts just fine, but it seems random so I can’t find a pattern the causes the crash.
Things I’ve tried to fix it:
- Update/Clean install video card drivers (also tried older versions from when I didn’t have the issue)
- re-install the game
- lowered graphic settings
- Running the game in window mode
- disable v-sync, limit frame-rate and some other stuff in the nvidia control panel
- Run a memory test (no errors detected)
I’ve also tried running a benchmark test to stress the video card but I didn’t have any issues here. Also other games (e.g. Diablo IV) are working fine. I’ve also monitored GPU temperatures which are fine.
