This is a very odd issue, that at this point I can only assume is a bug with the game on newer hardware like mine.
To keep it short, once HotS is loaded to the main menu, my internet “pauses” every 2 seconds or so, for around 500ms or so. It does seem like this is a symptom, and that the game is causing some kind of processor sleeping to occur. I checked with process lasso once, and it seems to detect this, saying that the application is causing system unresponsiveness.
This issue doesn’t occur if the game loads to the login menu, and seemingly doesn’t affect my ability to get into matches. However, matches are unplayable with constant freezing, but no disconnects.
Also of note, is no such issues occur when the game is closed, and my internet/pc performance is stable in any other game.
Things I’ve tried:
- Disabling Game Mode and Game Bar
- Reinstalling ethernet drivers
- Reinstalling chipset drivers
- Reinstalling the game
- Purging all HotS firewall entries
PC Specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3D
- MOBO: MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI (I’m hardwired via ethernet)
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT
- Windows 10 v. 22H2
