I haven’t played HoTS in a while, I’ve played very little during the Haloween event. All was fine.
Sometime at the end of October the Bnet app got updated and while trying to debug some performance issues in Hearthstone I saw there was no option for running a 32-bit version of the application for HotS anymore. Didn’t made a big deal out of it because I lauched the game, played a match and everything was fine.
I play on a laptop connected to a Full HD 1920x1080 display. The Graphics Adapter is an IGP HD 3000, on a i5-2520M so naturally, i was playing the game on the default resolutin of 720p (1280x720) which is also the recomended resolution by the game for my configuration.
Problem is that today when I opened HoTS, the game no longer scaled the 720p resolution to my full screen display instead the image was in the center and the rest of the full hd display was and is black.
I don’t understand why that is because I was always running the game in dx11. Before I prefered the 32 bit client because it was providing a little bit smoother experience in game with my 4GB or DDR3 1333Mhz RAM and latest W10 operating system.
Now, the minimum resolution that scales to full screen is 1280x800 which makes no sense because 1280x800 s aspect ratio is 16:10 and full hd 1920x1080 s aspect ratio is 16:9. Also if i alt tab the image is not full screen anymore its back centered even on 1366x768.
