Unable to download game data from Blizzard’s servers. Please check your internet connection and try again later.
The game client has suddenly stopping working. The Battle net launcher starts fine but when I click Play it throws up this error message. There is nothing wrong with my internet connection, and I’ve tried all of these below but the result is always the same:
- Restarted PC
- Scan & Repair
- Reinstalled the game (twice)
- Uninstalled the Launcher
- Tried starting the game from the exe file
- Reinstalled launcher
- Reset in-game settings
- Deleted Heroes of the Storm folder in Documents
- Checked Firewall
Other Blizzard games work perfectly fine, even the HoTS PTR client. It’s only HoTS Live that isn’t. The game just refuses to start and I have no idea what to do…
I have now wiped everything HoTS and Blizzard related from my PC, cleaned up the registry and rebooted to try installing from fresh. Now I can’t even run the installer… It gets to “Updating Agent” and then says “Woops, something went wrong”… So not even the installer can connect.
Is Blizzard blocking my IP or something?!
