Micro-freezing or whatever it's called

Hello,

Since I build my current PC (Ryzen 7 2700x, Gigabyte Windforce RTX 2070, 16 GB DDR4 3000Mhz, 500 GB Samsung 960 Evo SSD) I got a lot of micro-freezes/stutters during game, as you can see on video: youtu.be/OK-3WFDW_qA

I tried almost every fix I could find on internet (changing affinity, repair files, reinstall, disable streaming etc.)

Kind of doubt that it has something with connectivity as well, as I do not have this issue on my laptop, but I done WinMTR, here are the results:

Thanks a million for your data. It seems as if you have a VPN program running. As long as this program is running we can’t give you any support since we do not support the use of VPNs. It might even be the cause to your issue.

Just now I disabled all razer related services and programs, as well as VPN. But even before, all those applications were up to date. It may be worth mentioning, that I used the same peripherals on my latest machine (i5-6400 GTX 1060 6GB), as well as VPN, and I don’t remember ever facing this problem.

I have the same issue in Diablo 3, but it does not happens in GTA V for example.

Unfortunately no. Disabling all services beside Windows one didn’t helped either. I ran hots immediately after reboot, so nothing should be interfering.

I have to ask this question as I have not looked at your DXDIAG.

What disk is the game installed on ?
SSD or HDD ?
Also If I may suggest doing something completely out of the box. Reinstall Windows 10.
Now why would I suggest something like this.
Knowing how Windows 10 works (pretty much since XP, this is a common issue for all Windows Platforms) Windows mainly uses drivers with which it was installed, despite upgrading CPU in the meantime and installing new CPU drivers, Windows uses core drivers for CPU handling.

If you reinstall Windows 10 I’m pretty sure the issue will be gone.

Another solution would be to ensure that HotS is NOT installed on system drive.
Windows OS system drive is always C:
Install games on other drives (D:/E:/ETC). There are silly issues with Windows 10 handling games from system drive, I highly doubt M$ will ever solve this as this is a core issue with the kernel. I just wish I could play HotS from my Solus Linux.
Would be one more reason to abandon Windows, I actually only play 4 games on Windows now :stuck_out_tongue:

I have it installed on SSD. Also I did reinstall Windows 10 once I upgraded my PC.
But I will try installing HotS on other drive since I have it on system partition, thanks for suggesting that :smiley:

I hope it works for you after this, games usually choke up on system drives.
Might be a good idea to install Blizz App on non-OS as well.

Tried installing game on other drive, didn’t helped. What’s more I think it got worse. May be my imagination though.

This game is so dead. Every patch is something wrong. Few months ago they implemented something that causes game to freeze at 51 sec and dissconnect. I foud out that Avast is not compatibile with the game. Now after orphea patch in game when something is going on, like teamfight, causes micro freezing, lags, game is unplayable. Im so done

I found out, that my Windows was still on build 1803, which is weird, because I installed it like 2 weeks ago. Anyway, after I updated to 1809 everything works just fine, better than ever even.

Just have the task manager running in the background while you play. I know it sounds crazy and it makes absolutely no sense, but it works. Hit alt+ctl+del before you start HOTS and leave it like this, play your game and thank me later

Had it opened few times, when I played, but mostly to monitor what is going on while I play. Didn’t helped with my problem thought.
There is a ton of ways people fix this issue for them, neither of them helped me, so it’s really case specific problem. Weird that symptoms are the same.

But as I mentioned above, updating my windows was fix for my case.
