I installed hots and after starting it my mouse would only work in a small window in the top left. Impossible to move to another location

Did you agree the Blizzard terms when you installed hots? If you did your mouse’s mobility will decrease each day

I have the same issue. It helps to change screen resolution to same value and back to yours. But it’s a pain to do so every time you enter the game or alt-tab.
I had this issue too though I did find a temporary solution, which was better than=
Also a permanent solution.
Temporary solution =
hit windows D, you will see something in the background on your desktop, more like a pop up message, wait for it to go away, and then click the game, so the game appears on screen, should be ok
Permanent solution=
in windows 10, theres some gaming assistant that pop ups and stays on while you gaming, thts the culprit, get rid of that, and your ok.

it happens all the time on mac 
oh, dont know about mac, but i did hear that recent patches really messed up mac plays. windows is ok for me
