Sky Temple Crashes macOS

I continue to frequently have my game crash when on the map Sky Temple. I Opened a issue before but had no response and it has been buried by all the EU authentication server issues.

My last Sky Temple game I got 3 crashes, but it’s no longer causing my machine to restart and instead macOS was able to give me a stack trace, which hopefully will come in useful.

due to character limit, no file uploads or being able to reply to my post until others have, I can’t post the full stack traces. I will pull out to my eye what looks to be the meat. Sorry if I choose the wrong bits.

Please let me know what other information I can provide to help resolve this.

Thanks.

Same problem. I commented in another thread saying the same thing and we got no response from Blizzard there either.

@Insanity Ah well maybe we just keep the thread alive until it’s acknowledged.

I’ve also been flagged as a leaver multiple times now, I don’t know if I will at some point be flagged to be banned (I don’t know blizzard policy for accounts with frequent disconnects).

Anyway, I said in this original post that it was no longer rebooting my machine. This isn’t the case; it just will not always reboot my machine. I received a kernel panic in one of my last Sky Temple games.

I also have a ticket open with Apple where I’ve attached these stack traces and kernel panic logs. If they come back with any information on the issue, I’ll post it here as well.

I just don’t understand why they won’t remove the map from rotation for Mac users until it’s fixed.

@Insanity OK it’s a known issue, so some acknowledgement here which is good. Over on the US forums there’s an extended decision on it.

Set Shader quality to medium apparently will fix the crashing and kernel panics.

Hello all!

Just wanted to chip in to confirm that we are aware of the issue with the Sky Temple map. We have no details to share regarding a permanent solution yet, but meanwhile the suggestion posted above by freebie - setting shaders to Medium - has been confirmed to work.

This does not resolve the issue:
Running Heroes on 27inch iMac with macOS Catalina. Processor3.7 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5

Game is running smooth, but game crashes when playing “Sky Temple” map. I tried renaming my computer name, but the issue is not fixed. Wondering whether this happens to other users, if so, how can this issue be resolved.
