Ungodly PING to Hots servers!

All night today it felt like the game was playing on my screen in a slideshow.

The in-game connection interface showed jumps in latency to the point of 260-400ms. Finally after a while the last 2 games played at a steady 350-400ms lag, but the feedback on my button presssing felt close to 2 sec delay.
I run tracert for the hots servers in EU listed on the troubleshoot website a few times and found a steady 350-400ms ping too. So, does that conclude it? Or it might still be me?

Can’t keep on playing if it stays at this condition. Sorry

It can be a bit tricky to nail down exactly where latency is increasing your connection, but an effective way of finding it would be by running a WinMTR test. This is similar to a Traceroute, but runs over a much longer period of time, getting a better picture of your ping at each step of the journey, and effectively measuring packet loss.

If you run that test while you’re experiencing high latency, and get the results back to us, we’ll take a look. You can use the Preformatted text option here on the Forums (it looks like </>) to paste the results.

Look at that! Also if I understood the how-to-MTR correctly, I have to let it run for about 5 mins while experiencing the lag?
Run for both IP addresses given by the site.
(Same game/ Also, minor detail: I was playing Tassadar both times I lagged really bad, probably irrelevant)
