See, perfering to play on one of the NA servers. That is an opinion. One I can agree with.
Is NA more diverse? No. Not even remotely.
The rest of your comment was just petty, childish hate.

Why?
Why?
One of the most known issues is that Egyptians canât even be on voice comms because Egypt has banned the usage of voice chat in OW.
We also have had many posts, not only from Europeans but from Arabs themselves that a lot of those people are toxic to the max.
Russians also donât want to/canât speak English, weâve also seen threads by Russians around here.
All those factors are detrimental to our gameplay experience.
What do you have to say about all that?
well yeah, but i think iâve only been in the dutch server cozing up with danes and russians.
i mean whatâs the deal with that? does the nordic countries get placed in the east european wing?
for example if they placed a server in like ukraine, would scandinavians have to play on that server?
The Egypt thing, yes, but there are many other countries will similar freedom issues.
As for the rest, you are just citing anecdotal evidence that doesnât really sum anything up. One toxic English player doesnât mean all of them are toxic.
And using words like âinfestedâ comes across a little xenophobic, you are basically say your donât want anyone different to you playing.
Some people donât speak English⌠get over it? English is the 3rd most spoken language in the world. It isnât the be all and end all.
Anecdotal evidence would be personal experiences which repeat themselves, Iâm talking about stuff weâve all seen on these forums and, in more rare situations, on US forums for all to see.
Iâm fine with different people playing but they should be playing with similar people, on their own servers. However, I do want the different regions to not be able to play with each other. Kind of like how it is (used to be? havenât played in years) in League of Legends where you would create an EU West or an EUNE account and you would be locked to play accordingly.
They should learn to speak English. Do I prefer everyone using his native language? Hell yeah I do. Have we sort of agreed to use a common language when we get together to do something? Also yes. If someone doesnât want to speak/learn English, thatâs absolutely fine and I support it. I just donât want to have to do something common with him.
You didnât give me an answer to the why of this btw
So you want to segregate the game based on nationalities? You can see why that is slightly dodgy ground surely⌠Not only would it limit the player base massively. It is against most EU trade agreements and doing so would mean Blizzard would not legally be allowed to operate in Europe. For a start.
The LoL is fine, but they have a much larger player base and therefore splitting regions further is completely illogical.
I donât believe we agreed to use any âcommonâ language when we agreed to the ToS why purchasing this game. And if we did, wouldnât we use the most commonly spoken language in Europe? Which would, ironically, be Russian I believe. English isnât even in the top 3. (German and French are ahead of it).
It is the arrogance of us English trying to enforce everything on people that has always confused me.
You support it, but go away and leave me alone is your attitude.
And, if you need someone to explain how Europe is more culturally diverse than NA⌠Then that person should be Mr Google.
I donât care about the playerbase, if they donât have enough people playing, they should close down their operations and announce that their trash game is dead. If Blizzard wouldnât be allowed to operate in EU, then why does Riot still operate?
When I say âweâ I mean the people in general. Every European knows that, itâs an unwritten law. Might be unwritten but itâs still common sense, you canât go against that because âmuh regulationsâ and âitâs not on paperâ. Russia isnât Europe, letâs not kid ourselves. Western Russia, near the Baltic countries, can be for obvious reasons but take a trip to Siberia and see how European those people are. They arenât.
Thereâs nothing wrong with supporting someoneâs choices/culture/whatever but not wanting to mingle with him, especially as long as heâs not in my vital space/zone of existence, whatever you want to call it, is absolutely fine.
Risking a ban for this last one but Iâm going to type it anyway: Europe isnât that diverse. We might speak different languages but, at the end of the day, we are all racially white and our culture has extremely common roots. Sure those roots have been expressed in slightly different ways but there are so many common things, itâs actually astounding. Now, take a look at the US. The only common thing they have is the language.
Russia is in Europe. It is a member of the European Council.
The people of siberia are Russian and thus European. Just because you donât think they âlookâ it, that is just your racist prejudice.
And Riot alcan operate in the European market because they play by the EU regulations that they have to. As do Blizzard. The common market means you need to play by an all or none philosophy.
You have proven yourself to be (hopefully subconsciously) a racist, unintelligent and on previous threads a bully.
You are not really Blizzards target audience.
Regulations and papers donât mean anything, itâs just things we made up.
You know whatâs not made up? Nature. Perform a DNA test on any European and then do the same for someone in Siberia. Youâll be amazed by the results.
Youâre probably confusing citizenship with ethnicity. Youâre probably the guy who considers someone who, letâs say, spends 10 years in Ethiopia for a job and eventually gets citizenship, an actual Ethiopian. The denial of reality is a medical condition.
And no, everyone is Blizzardâs target audience. Blizzard is an inclusive company and being inclusive means accepting everyone. Right?
Regulations mean nothing⌠except for the basis of how the entire world works. But you want overwatch to be segregated on ethnicity?
Thatâs racist.
You can leave now.
Iâll help you and mute you. Donât need a racist bully here.
Why not a server in England?
Because it is in Paris or Amsterdam. Completely unnecessary to have one here.
Plus our IT infrastructure is so outdated. Weâre pretty much still in 1996.
This nightwing is a troll- go to check his posts - just ignore this kid. Probably a triggered arab.
apparently they canât set up servers for each regions and all of europe have to basically share amsterdam and paris which is kinda comedic pitting that many different languages together with no common tongue in a game thatâs supposed to be teambased.
Interesting. Despite clearly stating Iâm English, and commenting on our poor and outdated infrastructure. Youâve gone in to troll with a triggered racist comment.
Smooth.
All people have to do is check your post history to see what type of person you are.
You have the same âissueâ in Asia, and in America (although a little less so in America).
Europe is not some weird outlier.
true, but iâm sure more people in america knows english as their first or second language and the rest is basically spanish and french and portugese.
and out of all of those spanish is probably the second biggest language meaning you can pretty much have a conversation with anyone in america as long as you know 2 languages.
anyways the point still stands, itâs a shifty ground to base a team game on when you have to rely on understanding other peoples languages.
however to the benefit of blizzard i donât think they ever thought that overwatch would reach that far that language barriers would become an issue for players.
English is the most common language in America.
Whilst it is only the 4th on Europe.
If you create a group and say French speakers only, fine. If you solo que, expect a variety of sights, sounds, and everything. That is the joy of online gaming. Never know what youâll come up against.
i think english is still the most common language in europe seeing as for eurovision everybody speaks english or have translators into english in it and for many countries in the EU learning english as a secondary language is mandatory.
iâm sure if it were more important for trade relations to know russian or spanish or chinese weâd have that as a mandatory second language in many countries in the EU.
basically i think big countries that have big ties to trade that are important should basically be mandatory languages for those regions they inhabit to learn as a second language.
Eurovision is the broadcast deal. They have commentators and stuff for most languages there. Then the TV companies will just do what they do.
But yeah, I thought English was higher but I looked it up. More Russian, French and German speakers.
Most trade things people just speak in their native language and it is translated for the the non-speakers. That is why at the big EU meetings you see pretty much everyone wearing headphones as they have translators behind the curtains doing that job.
