I much of the Playerbase hates 6v6, however as a gamemode, 6v6 is a good idea. As the new OW2 players can experience it like assault, and seasoned players can look back. Its not something you HAVE to do for experience or ranks, just an arcade mode.
Key point - ARCADE MODE
The assault maps wouldn’t be too bad now in 5v5 role queue tbf. Couple of minor tweaks here and there and they’d be spot on.
Shame they are reworking them for something else.
did you even read what I said? I used assault as an example of what to do.
I did indeed. I know what to do. I just threw a potential at the op. After that it is up to them.
i see, but that has nothing to do with my point of 6v6 arcade mode
It’s already in the workshop, there is even a discord server that runs a ranked ladder on a 6v6 mode thats balanced similar to OW1.
What you want is already out there.
And so is all of arcade yet they can be done in workshop. additionally if it goes towards arcade progress and is an actual gamemode, additionally arcade has actual matchmaking where they fill games modes, in custom you arnt as likely to get a backfill, theres also the knowledge the host can kick you and you get 0 stats for progression
This discord server has match making and their own ELO system.
explain how a custom game as automatic matchmaking?
They do their own m,atch making and run games daily. Good fun. Worth joining if you love all things 6v6
How about just bring back 6v6 globally, blizzard wont admit ow2 is a failure. this latest patch that makes so many hero completely unviable is ridiculous ITS PATHETIC BLIZZARD YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO YOUR FANBASE. I have skin in the game here, I play on a collegiate team and have no interest in playing this season. why did you make these stupid changes. it makes no sense buff health but then also buff hitboxes like wtf? season 8 actually felt pretty good, I look for these changes to be reverted. So thanks for making not want to play something i have a f ing obligation too blizzard…
They gave a perfectly reasonable rationale for why they are trying it.
Whether it works or not is to be see further into the season… But they have said it is “successful” so far.
Ok, so your telling me i can shoot a bullet, and it misses their body by like a foot, and it somehow hits? i can understand a small unnoticeable amount, but the hitboxes and hero should line up to like a 95% accuracy (excluding skin based extensions)
You don’t have to agree with their rationale. But in game it isn’t that noticeable.
But it’s all to do with consistency, fixing no regs, and ping diffs.
agreed, however in a more competitive setting where the difference between 60 and 80 fps is more noticeable, that can be a game changer, for example, a widow sniping a player who goes behind cover, their hero might be fully out of LOS, but their hitbox isnt, and so hackers who use aimbot can still get elims, when its completly unreasonable
Yeah, I get that.
But if you’re caught out once… if you don’t learn from it, then the issue isn’t the game lol.
And it is the same for everyone in the lobby. So it is fair.
Whether it is a good change, we will see over time. Think it is a little too soon to judge, too many hot takes atm. They have said it has been “successful” (whatever that is meant to mean) so far.
I think the whole patch was a step in the right direction… and the hot fix the other day fixed a lot of the more problematic parts of it.
Except this gives a huge advantage to hackers who can clip hitboxes without the body.
also this is a dumb argument, so your telling me next time they release an OP hero, its ok because its the same for everybody. different heroes have been modified differently, and so people who main a more disadvantaged hero will suffer more than others
They will have the advantage no matter, so in that sense it isn’t worth worrying about them. As long as the systems in place deal with them quicker than they do now, all is as ok as you can expect.
A singular hero is different, as only 2 out of 10 can play it. The hit boxes are the same for 10 out of 10.
Also, doesn’t need to be a “released” one. Occasionally old heroes will be op too.
How do you know the system is effective. For all we know it takes 1% of all the hackers, because we dont know any successful hackers, otherwise they would be flagged
I can only go on what I experience in game (I don’t watch streamers (they are all devoid of personality), occasionally watch friends play on discord), and that is I encountered 1 cheater back in season 1 or 2… not seen any since.
So, my anecdotal experience is that something either must be working, or they aren’t quite at the volume some claim.
