I am so sick of getting one-clipped, even when i’m near all 5 of my teammates. To think that she takes so much accuracy, it makes her a god tier character because of the immense damage she does. You can literally get one-clipped as any character, and its so annoying.
It is even worse when she gets pocketed or damage boosted, she is complete cancer. At this point, it is more impressive to see a Mei fill up the killfeed instead of Tracer.
Console players get the help of aim-assist, and guess what that means? LOTS OF TRACER MAINS.
I know nerfing her damage might ruin the character and do the same thing that Roadhog suffered from before, but i think something about Tracer NEEDS to be toned down.
That Pulse Bomb nerf was only the start.
The Maximum damage she does via headshots adds up to about 240 Damage.
Think about how many heroes in this game have only 250 health or less.
About 19 Characters.
With a full headshot clip and a quick melee, she can kill a whopping 70% of the hero roster in an instant, NO HEALING OR BUFFS NECESSARY.
If her damage was scaled down a bit to give the heroes with 250+ a better fighting chance, it would be a bit better.
Yes, Brigette counters her, but only if she can even hit her, Tracer IS the fastest offense hero, after all, so its actually pretty difficult.
Roadhog could be able to get her, but only if he is actually able to kill her in one shot.
And Symmetra currently could destroy her, but think about it, are we really gonna get a Sym EVERY game? Didn’t think so.
I speak for anyone that mains supports or other damage characters saying that the damage needs to be looked at, i can deal with getting one-shot by a sniper or 2, but not one clipped by someone who just runs through my whole team just to kill specifically me, then teleports all the way back behind their team.

Can relate, I’m a tank main and always hate when Tracer whizzes behind and kills me with no risk thanks to recall.
The damage is stupendous, and not balanced at all. My only real counter to her is going Doomfist and attempt to rocket punch her into a wall which is usually hit or miss most of the time.
Pulse bomb wasn’t a problem and in my opinion the wrong part of her kit to nerf, where as her pistols are a real imbalance in the game. I really don’t see how people think it’s balanced…

The only other change she needs (after 300 Pulse Bomb) is a max Pulse Pistols range reduction from 30m down to 20-25m.
Tracer dealing damage from THIRTY metres when she has such great mobility is a slap in the face to other heroes. She should have to use the Blinks and Recalls to get in close and get a kill.
If the ‘average overwatch fight’ takes place within 10-40m (as Jeff said) then the fact that a hitscan hero as fast as tracer covers 75% of that range is OP, IMO.
Its actually 480. But you know tracer has pretty big weapon spread? And hitting all the bullets to head you need to be hugging the enemy and the enemy has to be afk so you can actually hit those bullets.

You kind of emphisized the point of wanting a nerf MORE than you realised probably.
If she deals 480 hitting every shot as a headshot that can almost kill Reinhardt. Even if you don’t she still destroys half his HP anyway. Tell me that’s balanced.

Ana = death
Roadhog = death
McCree = death
Junkrat = forces distance
Genji= forces recall
Just from the top of my head these are characters that can either kill tracer or force out a recall making her unable to push in so far that she can one clip
Yet, she can decide if its convenient to engage or not.
The ones you just named, cannot, when they are engaged, is kill or be killed.

Mobility in this game is op, and instead of adding cancer characters that SHOULD be able to deal with it, they should nerf mobility. Makes 0 sense that snipers have more mobility than some first line dps.
Makes even less sense that extremely high mobile characters with extremely tiny hitbox, have 4 teleports and one of them instal heal to full,
So getting instantly one shot by a sniper is fine, but a super squishy character that has to put herself at risk by getting practically into melee range and who has to aim at your head for a whole second for a kill is somehow overpowered? Not to mention most characters have some form of escape or kill button they can hit to avoid dying to her. Zen and Symmetra are the only ones without an “oh no” button to get away or survive.
Against a good Tracer, there should be no chance.
A Tracer killing me with a single clip without recalling is either well played or fail by myself or my team. Much deserved either way, and the last I’d do is call for nerfs.
The difference is that you can actually get behind cover and avoid getting Shot by snipers, but tracer hunts you down the whole time can spawncamp and you cant do anything about it, she is simply too good
Sombra, Genji, and Reaper will do the same thing. Get in, kill, get out. That’s exactly what they are meant to do. I’m not sure what your idea of the game is, but you’re kinda supposed to die occasionally. If you wander off or your team gives those characters the space for easy picks, it’s nothing but your own fault.
If she gets that close to Reinhardt, 5 other People weren’t doing their job. Hell, today I was “reinharding” in QP and had a freaking Hanzo with drawn bow walking circles around me until I decided that a “team” like that didn’t deserve my shield and took care of him myself.
Tracer, in its present condition came out quite a long time ago. Why all the stink started just now?
Because some people have learned to play well for the character Tracer?
In a reasonably high level game (say plat and above) there are no easy solo kills for Tracers. Yes, she is still good and can do a lot of damage, but she has to work so hard for each and every one of them. It’s not like spamming random shots with a Junkrat or Hanzo into a choke and maybe getting a kill. Each time you dive in, you have to know where all the enemies are, so you don’t get surprised and instantly killed. And if she fails to one-clip someone and your healers are on point, she’s useless. Honestly she’s super frustrating to play right now, because you’re never rewarded for doing just okay. You have to be excellent or you’re useless.
I understand the frustration but Tracer doesn’t deserve a nerf imho. She has to hit your head constantly, while keep moving (otherwise she’s toast), keeping in mind where she was 8 seconds prior and how much health she had (just spamming recall with get you nowhere in a mid-level game), avoiding hard cc (which is pretty common nowadays) and has to be relatively close.
I think she’s fine, she requires skill and the better you get the better she does, while still being counterable by characters like Road or Brig and the likes.
She is frustrating, zipping left and right, but it’s her identity.

The problem for lower tracers are that they cant aim at all. So they wont score easy kills either.
Yeah and the funny part is that because mercy has been “meta” in solo q for ages because of so many mercy OTPs you can actually get one shotted by dmg boosted junk or body shot from hanzo. Not to mention pharah for example as phara+mercy has been played for ever. And there is other things too. Zen is in meta atm heavily with mercy. If you get discorded and mercy dmg boosts the zen he can 1 shot you in the head. There is so many things that can kill tracer and she has to commit in close combat in order to do any dmg. Her dmg 3 for longer range and that adds up to 120 per clip and her spread is so huge that she cant even hits all shots on a tank on longer range. And most tanks has armor so you basically do something like 45dmg per clip to a tank with armor from long range. Sound op right? (60 if you hit all bullets)
