Hello! After pressing the PLAY button the game doesn’t start. It shows “The game is running” and the button is not active. I’ve already reinstalled it twice, updated all drivers but still there’s no result.

that is strange behaviour… What are your PC specs?

Welp I am running OW2 on i5 11400H, 16GB 3200MHz Ram, RTX 3060 6GB Mobile and game is installed on SSD ofcorse… I aint sure what is the problem on your side with OW2 but if you have low spec PC, or an HDD, this might be why your game is “running” but doesnt open… This seems like HW issue more than OW2 issue cuz I had similar problems with other games on low spec PC and it always comes down to HW Issues… The game has better optimisation than OW but seems like it works only with the new GPU drivers properly, without them your game might crash, freeze or even wont load… If you have everything up to date, make sure the game is on SSD, that your PC is in performance mode and not restricting OW2 to power saving mode, and if this doesnt work well for you, I think you might wanna wait for another update from Blizzard or just upgrade your PC if its too old.
same for me and many others. Fixes on youtube etc haven’t helped, even reinstalling doesn’t seem to work
I got it to open 2 times but one of those times the game only opened 30 minutes after pressing play. Before Overwatch 2 came out the game launched just fine, I’m so confused.
This is the issue I have also, just ‘Now Playing’ in Launcher & shows in Task Manager but game never appears.
Have any of you got a Pay as You go phone already attached to your Battle Net acc?
I did raise a ticket & Blizz got back to me about them removing the Phone requirements for the Battle Net accs as I’ve already & always had a Pay as you go Phone linked for 2 step verification.
They say this fix will go live on 07/10/22 but it’s 1:47am BST here atm & still cant get loaded.
There is another 1hr server downtime for fixes 7:00pm - 8:00pm PDT 07/10/22 which will be 3:00am - 4:00am BST 08/10/22, I’ll prob wait till after that & if still can’t get in respond to my ticket that there’s still an issue.
i7-9700K OC @ 5GHz, RTX 2080, 32BG RAM @ 3000MHz. But I doubt it’s localised hardware specs or issues but in the rarest of cases, what with so many peeps on the forums with connect / login issues.
Is it as simple as the servers bn so jampacked with bogus packets of data from the DDOS atk & the swelling number of temporary returning players the we’re so far back in the queue that the serveres haven’t got round to even loading up the title screen yet 
If you got game to show as loaded after 30 mins of staring at your desktop I might just leave it sitttin with the Launcher sayin ‘Playing Now’ for 1/2 a day to see what happens, after the maintenance downtime at 3am BST ofc.
UPDATE
I did get in after the contract phone requirement was removed but game is badly optomised as my FPS was jumpin all over the place on lowest settings, machine is above recomended specs. However cant get in again this eve 10/10/22 BST 22:00, I just think servers are at bustin point at peak times so far back in queue the game hangs b4 title screen loads.
Oh btw 1st time I got in my acc looked like a new acc with most items missing & chars locked, dont worry though when I was able to get in 2nd time it looks like all items / progress is there.
Same issue here. OW1 ran fine. Nothing booting up while the launcher says playing.

For those of you with the same issue:
Rename the Overwatch folder in Documents to anything else (like Overwatch_).
Pretty sure that would work for a good chunk of you who have updated your GPU Drivers and everything.

The posts in here led me to resolve the issues… Maybe some of them will help the ones that this easy fix won’t work on, though I’m pretty sure it’s the same issue for alot of people. Good Luck!
