EndOfTheLine is the Smurf Acc from Aria Rose haha. ( Thats a joke )
Thank you that you emphasised this for them.
omg wonderful . so true.
@fatbluedragon
@endoftheline
you both dont want to understand what my post is about.(or you can not understand it) I think you should read it again or you should read what darkwaver wrote.
This is just not true, that logic applies to all healers, there is not a single healer that cannot miss and hit another target. But ana is the only one that needs pinpoint accuracy as a sniper to hit it. There are points where spamming healing down an ally is not that hard with Ana, yet outside of very few times, the reality of Overwatch teamfights, is heavy, all around movement. Which means she is not gonna miss a target and hit another, she is completely gonna miss.
When you look at this, Ana again, becomes less forgiving than any of the other healers. Since her healing is all or no healing, all other healers deliver healing in a stream rather than burst, which allows for constant healing that only can miss for a short time before you can readjust and give heals again, essentially the exact same difference between widow/mccree and soldier. Also she has the least forgiving hitbox, but she does have some extra range.
Picking apart these erroneous posts requires more dedication than I can be bothered to put into it, so Iâll just demolish the first quote for you since it cuts to the core of your misunderstandings.
Youâre wrong because youâre not identifying all factors.
Every character requires positioning and awareness, but not to the same degree as each other. Itâs like saying that Widow and Orisa both require aiming. Itâs true, but thereâs obviously differences and the same is true for mobility and ability usage.
Ana has no mobility because Ana doesnât need to get in close to heal her allies. She can tag people from any range. This is an advantage.
Mercy has to get within range, this is also true for Moira, Brig, Lucio ect. This is a limitation or a challenge associated with playing these heroes at varying degrees. Itâs different for every hero.
You notice how the two healers with unlimited range on their heals donât have mobility abilities? Itâs almost like itâs been purposefully designed that way!
The heroes are given advantages and challenges which off set each other in different ways, but overall theyâre balanced, or at least thatâs the intention. If the balance is correct or not is up to debate and -opinion- and as we can clearly see, youâre only able to identify aiming as a skill and assume every other hero has equal skill requirements when it comes to mobility, which is obviously untrue but itâs led you to have the false preconception that Ana is just Mercy but harder, because she requires aim.
Obviously itâs more complicated that.
Remember that Ana simply outputs a lot of healing and has access to spike healing, which actually makes her more forgiving than Mercy in some respects. Mercy has to ensure that sheâs healing the right people at the right times, whilst remaining in closer proximity to allies/enemies, thus putting her in danger whereas Ana can shoot from a safe distance and can miss shots because her high healing output makes up for it.
I know this because Iâm a pretty bad shot and yet I managed to do quite well at my rank on Ana regardless. You know why? Because Anas advantages outstripped her limitations in this example.
Again, youâre looking at things too simplistically and not identifying all factors.
I have very little in common with that Youtuber other than that I play Mercy. So, youâre either trolling or maybe youâre so blinded by your hatred of Mercy players that you see anyone who plays Mercy as the same?
You made this post with the suggestion that players shouldnât hate on each other, and then youâve gone on to be pretty hateful and insulting, calling me a kid and stuff. So, whatâs the matter? Canât you practice what you preach?
This is the difference between when I debate with real people who know how to disagree whilst respecting the person theyâre debating with and people like you, whoâve resorted to insults and comparing me with that Youtuber.
why are you assuming such things? Is this now your desperate try to distract from the things you were saying? You have much things in common with aria rose this is why I wrote this comment.
look at this.
this.
I respected your opinion.(I even gave that post a heart but you deleted it) Seems like when people arent agreeing with you, you can no accept it and try to make the person (who is not agreeing with you) appearing evil. You are some twisted person. scary.
I never said that Ana is the most forgiving hero, only that she is a forgiving hero. In fact, she is the most forgiving sniper due to her ability to hit her teammates, too.
Comparing Ana with other healers is the wrong step because none of the other healers have the same core mechanic than ana, a sniper. Of course, she is least forgiving healer but she is still more forgiving as a sniper.
Am I saying that she is an easy hero? No, not at all. As you point out, she has a low survivability and mobility but that proves exactly my point:
While ana might be the most forgiving sniper, her low mobility and choice to either heal or deal damage requires cognitive skill. The lesser necessary mechanical skill is compensated by a more necessary cognitive skill. Her Skill potential got decreased and her counterplay potential got increased.
Please remember, my point was never that ana is an easy hero. My point is that you can evaluate a hero by conceptual variables: acessibility and forgiveness, or skill potental and counterplay potential.
You misunderstand. I mean Iâm out of that particular back and forth. It doesnât mean Iâm out of the thread completely. Iâll still correct erroneous comments as and when I feel like it.
Ohh⌠Itâs interesting that you clearly continued to read my posts even after saying there was nothing to discuss.
Less healing than ana but a bit faster rpm. Like a healing pistol. Or when i think about projectile healer I would implement symmetras rightclick mechanic but as heal.
btw I hope the next hero will be a support.
In Borderlands you could spec the soldier class into taking talents which made him heal damage on hitting allies and this would work with any equipped weapon. You could get pretty creative with it and wield a healing rocket launcher, sniper rifle, assault rifle ect.
In Aliens vs Predator 2 - Primal Hunt, the Predator had something called an energy flechette which was a rapid fire energy weapon attached to his forearm.
We already have Ana who is a hitscan projectile healer.
We do not yet currently have a projectile based healer with slower moving healing projectiles, so I think thereâs room for something like that in the roster. Think something like Orisas weapon only it heals allies.
Or you could have the best of both worlds and have something like the Linkgun from Unreal Tournament which has projectiles on LMB and hitscan beam on RMB. Limit the range of the beam and adjust the values to create a trade off between both modes.
btw
One thing why I dont play mercy is that her pistol is bad for mid range ( too slow bullets) I really like her kit but this killed mercy for me. Also the switching between staff and pistol feels like 10minutes.
