Normally, she would get destroyed by any hit-scan character, but that’s only if you use mouse and keyboard or are REALLY good with a controller.
For those who play hit-scan on console, taking out Pharah feels more like a chore than anything.
Lets take a look at something on our career profiles. If you check Weapon Accuracy and look at Pharah, she should be one of the highest amounts no matter how much time you played her for.
Now we take a look at her Weapon, her Rocket Launcher.
Your accuracy is only listed so high because you don’t have to get PRECISE hits with her. Since her weapon is explosive, its gonna have splash damage, which means you don’t have to aim AT your target, just somewhat right next to them.
Thus, it is EASY to land shots as Pharah, and rightfully gives her the 1-Star rating she deserves on her Hero Info.
Pharah is actually one of the worst characters on PC simply because it is easier to aim with a mouse and keyboard than with a controller. Maybe if hitting shots with her took a bit more effort to do, maybe dealing with Pharah, pocketed by Mercy or not, would be easier to handle.
We simply just have to adjust her splash damage, either by reducing the amount of splash damage or completely removing it. (Which i know isn’t going to happen.)
With Reduced Splash Damage, it will take a bit more skill to land good shots with her and make her easier to deal with, and maybe even raise her to 2 Stars on her Hero Info.
Most DPS heroes already take little effort at this point, such as Hanzo, Torb, Reaper (Somewhat), and Mei, thanks to her buff.
It would be great if Pharah took a bit more skill, and this would be a perfect change, forcing Pharah mains to improve their aim, and make that statistic on everyone’s profiles more accurate.
However, PC shouldn’t recieve this change, i know how hard it is to play Pharah on PC, i know she has a low Pick-Rate on there, but the Pick-Rate on console only ever goes up when a person in elo hell says “hey, we are losing, lets play Phar-Mercy and win.” Since Phar-Mercy doesn’t have an exact nerf, i figured that nerfing a involved character that has been untouched for a while may fix the issue.
