Happened to me as well. 8 hour ban because of a game crash.
Extremely disrespectful to the playerbase to say they won’t remove the leaver status gor a fault on their end.
Typical Blizzard customer service though. Seriously don’t know why i keep playing their games. If we all refused to play they would soon sort their staff out.

i just bought the battle pass and this happened twice, i want my money back.
You can finish the pass even if you’re banned from comp for good (play qp). they likely won’t refund you unless you have heavier reasons than this.
That happened to me three times. I passed from diamond 1 to silver 5… It’s just boring and annoying… That games is so broken…
Happened to me twice today. Got suspended for 15 minutes and then for an hour. While applying update the game is stuck and you can’t quit. You have to terminate the game via Task Manager.
Just got banned from rankeds for 20h (4th ban in two days) please fix this
I’ve been hit by this bug. It happened two days in a row when I tried to queue solo. I was able to get into a quickplay game so I thought it may not be an issue anymore. Then I went to play with friends, got hit with the bug again, and now i’m banned for 20 hours. So we all hopped onto CHEL.
I see I can’t be unbanned, but now I’m worried I’ll get hit with a season long ban if my internet craps out at any point. So my play time will definitely take a hit in the short term unless both this issue is fixed and I’m not going to face a long term ban.
This issue is big enough to made me make a forum account for a game I’ve been playing for years.
This happened 3 times to me, I am now suspended and dropped from plat to gold.
I am sad. Very very sad.
I wish you to feel as sad as I do. Fix it or kill the game.
I say this a a support player, in need of support. Can we be disrespected even more? This has been an issue for months.

I lost connection to a game yesterday, nothing to do with my internet as I was still able to enter a quick match but I got a 24 hour ban???

I log on and search for a comp game and get the “applying update” which was stuck for ages… NOW I AM BANNED FOR THE WHOLE OF SEASON 4???
This is unnacceptable Blizzard! Either unban people who have this issue or I am never buying your battlepass again!
I am also having this issue on PlayStation 4, it’s happened to me 3 times now and it gives me a DC ban on Comp.
Blizzard please fix this as I haven’t been banned yet, but I do not want to be banned for something so silly, it’s only started since the latest update on Console.
Same exact thing happened to me, what is blizzard doing I got a 20 hr ban because i alt f4d while it said “applying update” for 10 minutes
I was banned for 8 hours because the game said it was applying update, it doesn’t make any sense
Just queued for a competetive match, the queue popped, but then a “Applying update” message appears, and game is stuck on this message for several minutes. I force-quit and restart the game, and am now suspended for competetive matchmaking…
Please revert. If this happens again then what, my penalty will just climb even though it’s the game bugging?
I’d avoid playing comp at all until the devs inform us that the bug is fixed.
Queued in competitive mode. Sounded like my queue popped, but it’s just stuck on “Applying Update”.
I close Overwatch and when I reopen it I get a 15minute suspension from competitive.
Please reverse the suspension to my account.
