Also the healing change is really good because I’m less dependent on healers as a tank so I can go on more crazy flanks or go right behind the enemy backline and just wait for my health to recover and then go back in!
Indeed. Well more knowledge you can’t please everyone, the point of a live service game is to satiate enough people in order to generate targeted revenues. Which, for now, OW2 seems to be doing.
No, if we prefer OW1, we prefer OW1. Doesn’t mean it’s the better game. Just means you prefer playing it.
But the biggest poll I’ve seen down suggest 5v5 is slightly more popular. The numbers of players daily and monthly would also suggest more people are playing now than before.
Sometimes, games move past you. Other times you just move on. Plenty more fish in the sea.
It’s F2P. Like yourself, many people have created many accounts. So the numbers aren’t accurate. I mean look at Steam reviews. I did a lot of research and found that OW one is more liked than OW2, which makes it a better game.

I is just a PR spun number that a lot of games push out. Good news, but not significant.
Based on Googles server data, there has been about 360k players in the last hour.
Indeed. If you aren’t having fun playing game, play something else. Your free time is valuable.
If more people prefer it, it is more popular. More popular doesn’t mean better (Avatar is the highest grossing film of all time, a popularity score… It is a terrible film though).
There is also no conclusive proof as to which one is better, and the reality is it is probably around 50/50. One probably edges over the other when different people ask the question. (which was proven with the Jake vs whoever that dude was surveys).
When OW2 was initially added people gave it mass negative reviews to make a point to blizzard. I think it was one of the worst rated games across all of steam. We know this is wrong, however peoples reviews for once didn’t reflect many true opinions. It was a stunt because they were disappointed in a game they truly loved. So im not entirely sure this is a valid point to use. However I support your argument in general, from what I see OW2 is a worse game than OW1, or at least OW2 has so much wasted potential
I wonder, with the Chinese players being able to return in a month or so, whether this will impact the score (seeing as a lot of the negative reviews are from Chinese accounts that were upset over the NetEase deal ending).
I dont think it was the chinese players. At least not at the time i was talking about. When overwatch was added to steam I believe there was a lot of anger at blizzard for ruining the game and especially at the managers. however I am not educated enough in this topic to give specific enough details, im sure others will be able to provide those examples below
Yeah. That certainly added to it that is for sure. But the ending of the NetEase deal was the point of the “bomb”. A lot of the reviews are just people pressing negative and leaving what they believe is a funny comment. There isn’t actual “reviews” on there (same for a lot of games sadly).
Certainly will be interesting to see where the score goes in the 2nd half of the year
Games are no where near solid. They’re usually very one-sided stomps.
I do know that Overwatch 2 is a game. I am unsure why you’re telling me that… maybe the people you hang with need to be reminded about normal things so out of habit you’re doing it here also?
Blizzard give us no place to review their games. Steam does.
The reviews reflect the true opinions, so for those who would of given it positives, would have given it positives. As not many people at all did, it rightly is one of the worst rates games across Steam, and very poorly played on there also lol.
