1 bronze can contribute a little in a masters game
1 master in a gold/silver game destroys all of the competition so its not even at all
if that 1 player wants an even match, join a bronze team or go solo, ruining the game for 10 other players because a bronze and a masters are grouped together is worse than ruining the game of 1 who would get slaughtered in a higher ranked match

If the MMR average of 6 players is the same as the other 6 players… that is the definition of even.
Also, SR isn’t necessarily the same as the MMR. Someone’s rank isn’t that relevant to quick play matches.
I’ve also assumed you were quoting their rank on the role they were actually playing.

Well no. You can out 2 2000sr players in a 1v1 and one could get steam rolled if they keep making mistakes.
But match maker doesn’t use hindsight. It uses numbers and as you agreed, it is even on paper… so get on with the fight!!
I agree, master (not masters) players are unlikely to have gold MMR, but it could be mid/low diamond. (They 100% shouldn’t be hiding MMR, but it is what it is).

this situation SHOULD NOT HAPPEN! in any rank… masters players should be matched with people not bellow diamond, and not above grand master
gold players should be matched with people not bellow silver and not above plat etc etc
this way, yes there would be skill differences, but not so far out of whack that the game is entirely ruined by one player
and the argument of “Keeping wait time low” doesn’t play into it when you have to wait 15 minutes whilst using a priority pass for the match to be ruined before its started because of the matchmakers F*ckup

The situation shouldn’t happen, and I doubt that it is as the MMRs will be roughly the same and thus a fair match according to the data.
Your idea just wouldn’t function in quick play.

- You can play with whoever you like
- The player base is far too small in qp, qp classic and arcade yo be segregating things too far.

You get punished for being good outside of ranked games, meaning: You get grouped up with players that are below you’re skill level. That is so frustrating specially on Mystery hero (the matchmaking for myst hero is also total garbage)
No. The match making on mystery heroes looks “bad” because there is such a tiny pool of players to pick from.
Almost no one plays that mode so what is the match maker meant to do…
