I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m really not enjoying the ‘Quicker Play’ gimmick this weekend. Matches are too short, not enough time to turn a play around (even with faster respawn), and it feels like its taken a lot of the fun out of whats supposed to be the more chilled of the game types.
By all means have it in arcade, but to subject us all to this?
Any thoughts?

I’ve decided not to play that.
I foresee massive increase in feeding for the faster time, as even the normal time doesn’t feel long enough for everyone to realize that they should wait to group up.
Even the point timer in flashpoint feels too fast to me, and it’s only a littlebit faster than the regular one.

You pretty much took the words out of my mouth.
Since we are all subjugated to play this, I found it annoying that the only way my friends and I can enjoy overwatch is to play comp now. While I don’t struggle in comp, sometimes qp is just easier on us, but not this weekend!
Like you said, its so fast that by the time you die once, the enemy team already claims the objective. It overall sucks.

Totally agree. For example the fate of the point on Flashpoint is decided by only one temfight!
It is strange that Blizzard couldn’t figure it on its own. Couple games played is all that was needed to feel that this mode wouldn’t work.

I am not having fun in this mode. I play a lot of Junker Queen, but her whole playstyle is about patience and playing around enemy cooldowns. I literally don’t have time to do this in this mode. It sucks.

Look, I saw they wanted feedback on ‘‘QuickerPlay’’.
I haven’t read any posts.
To be honest, it’s quicker respawns and not much else. Love quicker respawn. Just like the change that has people spawn closer together after they die.
Hate in Diamond and below.
It’s the team that stands on point together from the beginning, they win.
It’s like half a team fight, always. Which btw is the absolute best part of this game.
100% to 0% rounds aren’t what I’m after.
Respawn faster, stop messing with the cap rate / payload push time.
So much balance around counter play…why suffocate it?
I will say, I like the whole ‘‘Sombra hack!!!’’ presentation.
It is good to see they aren’t afraid of messing with core mechanics.
In an unobtrusive and intelligence gathering weekend, let it turn everyone off.
Sorry, need less than comp but more than mindless ‘‘Just Quickplay’’.

Personally, the I really like SOME of the changes. Big capital on the some there because most of the other changes don’t feel great. However, and I’m sure you devs know this, some of the changes REALLYYY need to be turned down if ever implemented.
The faster rate of points or faster payload will make losing team fights feel awful because then you have to deal with all of the progress that was gained from losing one fight. Faster respawns feel just okay. It’s hard to gauge how they would feel with all of the other exaggerated changes. The faster CP point gaining is way too high for teams in disadvantage. If a team loses only one team fight, they have to fight until OT and NEED to win the next fight.
Overall, most of the changes should not happen. The changes do too much and there aren’t any new strategies for team fights because team fights themselves haven’t changed. The only thing that has changed is that losing team fights is just way worse.
Real positive changes to the game need to happen not with the gameplay systems but with the gameplay loop with overall damage and healing nerfs. Too much damage leads to health bars being deleted but the compensation with the healing leads to some characters feeling completely obsolete because of the amount of healing and no burst damage.

It’s way too quick, payload maps are super in favor for the attacking teams, they get three minutes at least to respawn asap and do whatever they want, if defense loses once consider that entire part of the map lost because one person on cart can zoop right to the cap while 4 other teammates secure map control. One game on king of the hill went so fast I didn’t even get my ultimate across two rounds. So invigorating, not being able to even use one of my abilities because the game couldn’t last long enough to build it because the enemy team didn’t get a chance to retake. Or on the other side the game is just spent in overtime anyway, because everyone respawns super fast and staggers onto the point for four minutes. To answer the question in the director’s take, the losses sting the same and the wins feel worse.
I do think it’s funny in their blogpost they mention they want to “encourage” more players to try this mode. And by encourage they mean force, because I just want to queue for regaulr QP and can’t. And no, their advice about making a custom game can go pound tar.

Hate it. been playing since beta. mostly quick play. would honestly stop playing if this is the new norm.

It’s not a very well thought out implementation. It should have been an optional arcade mode, rather than just outright replacing quick play.
If a Sombra or Tracer get behind you, goodbye point as it caps so fast. Get team wiped and that payload moves so fast you cannot turn a game around. Pretty much most of the time attackers on payload, or the first teram to wipe the other wins. It’s not fun, doesnt seem balanced and either you wipe, or get wiped, no inbetween.

The menu to find the next match needs to be FASTER (same as Overwatch 1). Showing stats then finding a new match takes too long. There should be something to skip the highlight of the game PLAY OF THE GAME is a total joke, it’s random, I haven’t see anything worth it. POTG should be something EPIC and amazing.
I do want a 6VS6 WEEKEND event.
I play more rank than casual, but at this rate, it’s not worth my time to play. It’s messy.
It’s working only with Push maps I would say, everything else is too quick. sometimes you even can’t get your ult before you see victory/defeat
I’m with you there, this isn’t what we asked for at all. We don’t need faster times to take the point or push the payload. I don’t plan to play until this whole quicker play experiment is over. It was not needed
Its the most boring mode. Matches a too quick so theres barely any action. Respawning faster to die again is the most annoying thing

I’ve already written what I think. frankly it seems like total mayhem mode to me but based on accelerated time rather than the heroes’ abilities.
they could definitely have been more specific about what problems to analyze in each mode instead of generalizing so much for broken rules for everyone.
