Reaper buff, what were the devs thinking?

Don’t they test things in PTR anymore??? A reaper should not be able to regain that much HP… he is like a tank now… not to mention there is literally no counter to his ult now because he gains 50% HP from dmg given …

They where thinking dive is being played to much in low elo and wanna give Ana more breathing room, no really i see more dive then goats, dive is far more OP even tho its useless against goats, i still see more dive then goats.

They did, the Goats(3tanks, 3supports) had a wooping 75% pick rate in the PTR after the nerf.

Just as a heads up Reaper has 0.20% pick rate for high ranks so its really ok.
No need to overreact or spamm reaper topics that break the code of conduct.

I just assumed its bc it features dps, which most players want to play.

Its just that Goats are boring so they don’t get pick’d in low rank, people only take goats once they want to win. And for low rank, id have to say that everything is “op” once you facture the fact that people wont be playing anything right.

Stun. Any stun is a counter. So pray tell, how is there “literally” no counter when there obviously is a counter?

Not just a stun, any CC even a push back or just a Hanzo/Widow headshotting em when he ults or a shield or Def matrix.

No, boops doesnt stop his ult…

Boop won’t work every time, but its not something to ignore.

Because the people who play PTR are not a representative sample size. It’s like asking only politicians who they’re going to vote for.

Reaper’s win rate is obscene (over 55% despite being surprisingly bad in Bronze), his pick rate is still increasing and already the 2nd highest among DPS (only Genji above him). Yeah, he isn’t used in GM and M, but 90% of the player base get harrassed by him, which is why it’s an issue.

All the people who talk about countering Reaper completely ignore the reality of things. Sure, he can be countered - if every hero always saves all of their abilities and ults just to deal with him. Oh, D.Va can protect from him 2sec which is enough to kill him? Even if that’s true, that’s still her entire Matrix for the next 8 seconds, and before that you eat all the other damage. Oh, Ana can sleep/nade him? Only if she saves those abilities just for him and for the right time.

It’s not so much about “can x be countered”, but “how many ressources does a character drain from the opposing team” - and Reaper drains far more than a single hero should.

Its not random people, it was pro teams only. 75% of the every pro team used Goats after the nerf on the PTR.

Reaper’s pick rate is 0.27% for high rank, and it appears the pros found a team comp to use him in they just trade Zen for Ana and Brig for Reaper in goats keeping the Lucio, D.va, Rine, Zarya. And it works really well since you have lucio’s speed boost on 4 melee range chars. The devs said that they don’t like lucio and reaper working together so something might change soon but it really feels like the’ll hit lucio with the changes if that team-comp goes out of control so far its 30/70 vs the standard goats comp thou, since believe it or not Brig and Zen are still good heroes, especially vs other combo close ranged teams since Nano Reaper ult vs Zen brig ults are pretty close and if you team has tanks no one will die as a upside to Zen Brig ult they have Lucios aoe healing even non ampt will secure the stop to the other teams ult. But Spicy Ana nades might stop that, at that point it matter how lucio boops and speeds his team + the other def cds like Def matrix, shields and bubbles will matter and if D.va eats the nade or reaper ult his meh.

As a heads up some pro players find D.va more deadly after the armor change thanks to the way she deals damage.

I guess if we have reaper in owl season 2 24/7 then he gets nerfed, if nobody plays him.
Then he’s still trash.

I can’t believe he gets any playtime.

Pros would happily abuse a broken hero (see old brig and mercy) you can have godlike aim and gamesense, but if you can’t rezz you are useless.

I think Reaper was already very good close range DPS, the fact that he even regenerates health is a huge bonus regardless of how much or little it is. Now the only way to beat him if you are a tank or support is to avoid him.
It’s annoying that Blizzard balance the game purely on the playstyles of only a handful of the top players. For the 99%, it’s completely unnecessary.

They would do better if you actually listen to people like Seagull suggesting to give Reaper armor penetration instead of making him OP and trigger so many other players.

Yes, but it wont stop it, and you have to be bit lucky to knock it out of range, and not boop him into your teammates… Also trance/beat can absorb most of the dmg, which is the same as boop them away…

Oh my god thank you. It’s infuriating for me to see how like when people choose Reaper on the opposing team, they almost always win because of him. I had a match where we were close to winning, 30 seconds on the clock. Then someone switched to Reaper and boom they won instantly. This buff for Reaper was so unnecessary.

Why are you randomly throwing away sleepdarts on coolddown like a crazy person? Save it for reaper. Same goes for nade, have some gamesense, a fight just started and reaper is wraithform towards you? He probably have ult. Deal with it.
