I rarely talk and even when I talk, its exceedingly rare I swear and I never aggressively target people because whats the point, I intend to be constructive because I want people to improve and get higher quality games.
I do play QP games and not comp (comp is stressful) and game blamed for either being rubbish or tryharding in QP although, I only try (People seem to find it difficult to see the difference between the two).
Now, I suddenly have been silenced for Abusive Chat? Asking friends, I donāt seem to be the only one either which is interesting. Are people going around reporting others for nothing again? I wont bother repealing it because Blizzards support is automated and even the human support act like an automation system so.
I do leave games a lot because Its quite easy to see if your team can at least play or I have to remain in spawn for like 10 minutes. I am guessing people carelessly report for that? (I havent been out of the -75% xp penalty since the Season 2 stared)
I want to know if this has happened to you or you know anyone?
If youāre abusive to others. Yes. Very normal.
The language used isnāt the important part.
If anything everyone else is abusive to me (although usually really immature and stupidly so im not offended), Iām not even sure how to be abusive to others without using generally bad language but, people have proved me wrong countless times with how low they can get themselves socially so, I guess anything is possible?
If you deem someone abusive, report and mute.
People will deem you abusive for many things. Telling who to play, what to do and so on.
I always find if you play solo, say nothing and just use pings. If in a group with friends just communicate with them.
Never use match chat.
Canāt have any confusion if you donāt give them anything to be upset about.
I guessā¦ But my concern is mainly the amount of reports which seem to be coming from when I say nothing at all. When I got silenced, I had not said anything for the last 2 sessions and my sessions usually go on for hours.
Iād report you for sure if you were leaving before a match was finished (I donāt play QP though). The category doesnāt really matter for me, Iād just pick something quick and move on.
Leaving wont get you silenced in the chat, so thats not it. In fact if people leave you cant seem to report them anymore. So this should actually protect you from being silenced
chances are, you might have been reported because someone didnt like your hero pick, playstyle, or your performance. Some people can be salty like that. It happens more than you think. I have seen it happen in World of Warcraft as well. People literally just selling something in trade chat without spamming and then getting mass reported by their competitions guild. Resulting in being silenced and pretty much banned from any group content in that duration. Automated silencing processes are terrible.
If thats not it then either you were being toxic the times you did speak or someone couldnt take some critizism or some fair question like asking someone to change to another hero for its utlity sake and taking it like being toxic instead. Not only are there some very salty people in games there are also some oversensitive ones.
And dont forget the good old thing some people do. āI lost so i am going to report every single one of my team because i am angryā. Wich reminds me of the good old league of legends times
Lol trust me you would get real tired of that in quicklplay. There are just so many leavers. I have had games where i have seen 15 different people come and go. Wich is also the reason why 80% of games you get in quick play seem to be backfill.
After a while you just get fed up with all the backfill 80% of the time and just want to leave to start a game from the start so you can have a fair and fun game
Itās a miracle I have not been silenced but I have a theory, I donāt start anything but if somebody starts, I get vocal and donāt hold back. I must have had a bunch of reports against me by now but I also get 1-2 endorsements in that game from the other team members who are happy that I opened my mouth or just found it funny.
My theory, and this is just a theory. If you get reported by a player but also receive endorsements from the other team members in that game, the endorsements might counter that report, who knowsā¦
I have tried that before about 3 years back but I got silenced immediately and, im pretty much not the same person I was back then so. (Anger management improvement pretty much changes your life)

Well I donāt like QP at all but I would definitely report people when they disrupt gameplay. And it works, too. Just look at OP. He got fairly suspended.

Iāve snapped and told people to shut the āhellā up a few times since OW2 and Iāve not been suspended. Honestly it depends how many people report you because reports arenāt reviewed anyway you just get auto suspended at a threshold. People will still deny this though even though many streamers have proven it to be the case.

The reporting system facilitates bullying and is prone to abuse. The best thing to do is turn all your chat off. End of. If you donāt you will receive account action (suspension / ban). Itās that straightforward.

But you are correct that you should just turn text chat off, it isnāt helpful to anyone in game.

False reports come to mind as a way to abuse the system. One could in theory get plenty of friends and systematicly keep falsely reporting an individual.
It takes effort but some people can have too much free time and entitlement on their hands.

You have to be in a game with that person for the system to log the data around that report.
So, unless you get them repeatedly in game after game. That isnāt happening. And no one cares about some random that much to even try.
If you get actioned, youve been report consistently for a period of time. Even with the odd āfalseā report, that shows youāve been disruptive in multiple games, while and again lots of different people.
Iād love to see someone try and āabuseā it and see how well it works.
