You poor miserable brainless follower.
People wanted FFA for a long time. Blizzard didnt want to give it to us because OW is not really fitting well as a FFA game. They wanted to please us because enough people moaned about it and wanted it. Now its in comp mode because thats what happened for lucio balls etc. Its just for fun. I dont understand how you can manage to think this is a bad thing.
If you dont like the mode that is completely made for fun and because people asked for it. Dont play it.
They added a competitive FFA deathmatch because they already have made other competitive arcade game modes.
So if they already made competitive CTF and competitive elimination, âwhy not competitive FFAâ?
The next competitive game mode might be team deathmatch or 1v1.
I mean, if they can do it, why not?
It seems like you - and many others - do not what to think.
You say: âIf they can do it, why not?â
Because not every modification/ invention is a step forward but a step back.
We all agree that DM is a fun mode - right?
We all agree that the OW heroes are not well suited for FFA - right?
Then: Why make a âFUN MODEâ into a âSERIOUS COMPETETIVE MODEâ that is naturally unballanced?
Donât you understand that?
Why serious you ask? Because now you cannot leave the game whenever you please. You get penalized if you do so. Does that sound like a âfun modeâ? Does ranking and ranked points and score sound like words that you attribute with a casual fun game?
Why not? People were pissed because lucio ball was made to comp because it was just fun mode. Now FFA is a solo player experience at its best. You can keep playing for fun without ruining the games for others.
I⊠I really donât know how else I should explain it to you. You even Explain it yourself:
Lucio ball was fun mode + it was turned into competetive => ergo peaople were pissed about it.
Thatâs what you wrote and itâs the literal answer to your question âWhy not?â
You quoted me and I stated the exact same thing!
PLUS Deathmatch is - in comparison to Lucioâs balls - ânaturally unballancedâ.
Thatâs the reason why Blizzard hesitated to include DM into OW in the first place.
Because people asked if they could have competitive lucio ball? DM was something people asked for in the beginning and blizzard delivered. Lucio ball as far as I know is their own thing, no1 asked if we could have rocket league in OW.
Also I never played comp lucio ball so I dont know how salty people were. I played the original lucio ball and people were f*cking pissed already. Its a team game. People will be pissed.
Whatever, man.
Your comments are strange and make little sense.
You donât have to take a âserious competitive modeâ so serious.
I mean, I already know that FFA is broken, but I donât take it seriously. I just play whatever I want.
Now then, let me correct my statement.
Blizzard didnât add competitive FFA because they can. They did it because the had to.
Sounds confusing? The reason is simple:
If they turn each unique arcade game into a competitive version (lucioball, CTF, elimination), then no unique arcade game shall be left behind, including FFA
By the way, that argument contradicts itself. If the game mode is fun, then there is no need to leave, right? So why bother the penalty for leaving.
If you read my comment closely, you would have understood that I rejoined games when there were too many Moiras and Brigittes.
AndâŠ
âŠwhere does it say that all arcade modes have to become competetive so that none is left behind?
Itâs just Circular reasoning.
âA is true because B is true; B is true because A is true.â
Well, we can keep arguing about why they added Competitive FFA but it wonât matter.
Point is, Competitive FFA is there and it wonât go away until the season ends.
It is your choice to play Comp FFA so you donât have to play a ridiculous game mode that shouldnât work in the first place.
At least itâs a way to farm some competitive points and get to the golden mercy gun faster
This is so crazy.
So many of you are the perfect marketing victims.
Get the golden gun?
Get the new skin for hero x?
The golden guns look s#it. Theyâre plain golden in color. No interesting color patterns. In MOST cases the original gun skins look way more intersting (believe me - i studied arts).
The reason you want the golden gun so bad is because of status. I havenât bought a single golden gun. You can have all my Comp points if u want.
The thing I care about is a fair and fun game.
And if theyâd include a non-competetive deathmatch (like earlier) Iâd immediately shut my gob.
There are many players out there who know that FFA in OW isnât faire due to OW nature. So they only pick heroes that are somewhat equal, which means (no moira, brigitte, roadhog).
They know that these heroes are unfair and will win most 1on1s. I left and rejoined games until I found a somewhat fair game. Many ppl did.
Now, itâs not possible anymore.
Plus, the new FFA comp mode only includes 2 maps. Why?
The other maps where fun to play.
The DM development has been a HUGE step back.
And saying âwhy bother, you canât change a thingâ is just dumb.
Thatâs the very attitude that lead Germany to national socialism - believe me, I am German and I know that following authorities blindly isnât smart.
People need to stand and speak up. Even if itâs just a game like OW.
Did you follow the Star Wars Battlefront discussion, how every DLC costs extra, pay-to-win-issues and so on?
The huge criticism may now lead to Disney cancelling EAâs Star Wars licence. Something made possible by people complaining.
Donât be just another cog in the wheel!
First of all:
I was the one who said the thing with golden weapons. Donât pull other people into that argument with my words!
Second:
I was joking, thinking optimistic. I give a damn on the competitive deathmatch. I havenât even played the placement matches. So any argument against golden weapons is meaningless in my opinion.
Sorry, but hat statement is laughable. You donât have to study art in order to determine whether something looks good or bad. Or do I have to brag around that Iâve self-studied color theory, art and I am going to study graphic design?
And this:
Where did I say that?
All I said was:
Did I say that we canât change anything? No, I said that the current competitive FFA will stay until the season ends. Itâs a seasonal event after all.
I never mentioned that change is impossible because it simply isnât true. If people speak up, something might change.
Blizzard might read all those complaints, understand that even the player base noticed that FFA doesnât work. They might decide that this is the first and last competitive FFA. Iâd be happy if that happens because competitive solo-FFA simply doesnât work
Only because you said that doesnât mean that this applies to others reading this comment as well, duh!
You do know that irony canât be properly conveyed by text only?
No, you do not necessarily have to study art to appreciate artistic concepts - but it certainly helps.
Well, you can read about diseases and medical treatments yourself.
But what do you think whose opinion about a medical matter has (probably) more value: self-study John Doeâs or a doctorâs?
Iâm not saying that others canât appreciate art - btw itâs highly subjective, anyway. Iâm saying that I have acquired the necessary knowledge to appreciate it and that you - to a certain degree - can trust my judgement.
Why else would it be near-impossible for salesman John Doe to apply at a graphics design studio?
By studying and graduating you are given a document (degree) that says: âThis man/ woman has knowledge about a certain subject matterâ!
Where did I say, you said that?
This is a forum. Many others beside you read these comments. And I know that others have that opinion.
I think you have a problem with taking things to personal.
The 3rd time where you take this criticism personally.
If I had directed all the arguments at you, I would have used the âREPLYâ button.
Great - we have the same opinion!
Why do you feel so butthurt then?
Iâm sorry,
the fact that many of your arguments fit perfectly, both chronologically and in terms of content, as a reply has let me thought that your statements such asâŠ
âŠandâŠ
âŠwere directed at me.
My assumption felt more reasonable once I noticed that, fist, I was the only one who mentioned something about golden weapons and, second, I was the only one who said something that could be misinterpreted as âno power to change somethingâ
This is why I took your statements âpersonallyâ. I just thought that they were directed at my opinions. Due to that misinterpreted confrontation, I just followed suit by replying back with arguments.
I never was âbutthurtâ. Your post just seemed to be directed at my post on which I replied
Just as you said:
Some things are difficult to convey, such as irony. The same counts for who you aim. If your context isnât constructed properly, it might cause false interpretations, just like in this case.
However, we should stop with arguing about that before the discussion derails any further.
Point is, competitive FFA is stupid. Letâs hope this will be the first and last one.
Touché!
Youâre right!
I apologize! Sorry, man!
I think I was a bit tilted from FFA when hacking these comments into the forum -_-â

i put his flashbang as a un fun and no skill ability. reed the post before responding
Okay, Iâm just putting this out thereâŠ
It is extremely inefficient for a Sombra to hack every healthpack on the map
As a player who is at 2491 by just maining Sombra in Comp FFA, I will tell you: If this is happening to you, that player is focusing more on hacking every healthpack than getting kills. The only time I hack packs is either for quick healz or to set up a home base (typically a mega or less-used mini, if petra)
Also, getting hacked isnât the end of a 1v1. You can still shoot. I donât understand why people would rather be Flashbanged + Fan the Hammered or Brigitte Comboes. At least Sombra has to aim.
You might have missed a word
You might have missed the last third of my post
