We Want To Change View Mode In The Game

Hi there ,

My Question Is Simple

Why we can not see our characters completely in game after all alot skins etc purchased ? Im directly asking developers can you not add a simple button for those who wants to see own character simply for those who wants to see entire character enable it and if not disable it (Like Diablo) . In these way u’ll save us seeing only 1-2 arm of our characters .

Best Regards .

Are u asking for a third person view? I think that would change a lot the gameplay, surely we cannot mix third person/first person in the same lobby.

3rd person view would allow corner peeking.
Some characters have abilities that enable 3rd person view, but that’s because a 1st person view would be awkward or clumsy in those situations.

Nah. Just don’t buy the skins.

Saves you money. Easy solution.

Then developers should put another game room for those who wants to see entire character .

Just play a different game if you need to see that

Oh boy… Where to begin… The OP is clearly a bit lost here…

1: The game is an FPS. It’s literally in the name. First Person Shooter.

2: The game as in the franchise, has been out since 2016. There’s no way they would simply change the view format to 3rd person.

3: If you want 3rd person, there are plenty of other games out there to pick and choose from, and Marvel Rivals is on the horizon.

4: If you want 3rd person, this is not the game for you.

If you ask me they should add a third person mode toggle would probably sell loads more skins…

No one did.

But splashbang nailed it. It’s an FPS… First person.

If you want TPS, play a TPS.

It’s not marketed as a first person shooter - official website describes it as:

“HERO ACTION SHOOTER”

“TEAM-BASED SHOOTER”

Cool story dude.

FPS game gonna stay FPS.

If you want it TPS, head to the workshop, make it and get players. I’m sure they’ll take notice if gets traction.

Everyone’s beloved, review bombed, steam has it has an FPS… (Tags are added by the publisher)

  • “FPS” happens to be the closest widely understood category but by no means defines the game - if we’d allowed traditional core FPS values to determine the design of the game we would’ve had a much less interesting game as a result

  • They could add a third person mode toggle or game mode to the game tomorrow and it would still be Overwatch - the game isn’t defined by the perspective it’s played in

None of this matters because at the end of the day $ speaks louder than anything else and the only question that needs to be asked here is:

Would it make them more money if they added a 3rd person mode?

That’s literally the only question that matters from the perspective of business and profit…

Why do you believe it would be less profitable if skins were more enticing to purchase?

I’m going to disagree with the word soup. Seems flawed.

I don’t think soo, maybe a little more for a moment, but that would also increase queue times since people would split between TP and FP which would a lot of people be annoyed ahah

Exactly. Don’t take a genius, or a usb memory stick colleague in Brazil to realise if you want a TPS, play a TPS.

I think it would for a couple of reasons:

  • Being able to see your skin makes it more enticing to purchase a skin
  • This incentive would be lasting rather than temporary
  • In regards to players being split - by logical extension you’d have to argue for the removal of all arcade modes in order to be consistent here
  • Another solution would be how Paladins used to do it - have it as a toggle

Do you believe Fortnite would be as profitable if it were in first person mode?

Does it make sense to potentially bleed players and therefore profit to other games like Marvel Rivals?

I personally wholeheartedly support OP’s idea…

If it’s a better game that people enjoy more, they’ll go anyways.

Having played that games alpha… I highly doubt it’ll have the impact some think. The “Marvel” tag is hard carrying it atm.

i’m exactly agree with you.

I should confess I think this kind of game may suit better in Third Person, I think the fact Marvel Rivals will be in third person is a good thing. Seems the kind of game that will rely more in abilities rather than weapons/aim.

But I don’t know if it will be good idea for OW2 having the two game modes.

Mixing the two perspectives in the same lobby would be unfair since third person gives more advantages.

And creating new game modes for third person would split the player base making queue times too much longer I guess. I don’t think removing arcade would be enough since there is not too much people playing it (and I would prefer to keep some arcade modes like Assault Maps, 3vs3 Eliminations…)

For the skins personally it would be the same for me, I don’t spend my money in skins because I like it, I spend only if I like the game and I want to keep the game alive supporting the devs.

Who is “WE” though?

Regardless, it can be quite interesting. You don’t need to blend 3rd person to 1st person, you can make them separate modes like in PUBG. Then it depends on what you want to play and how you want to play.

I doubt that Blizzard would choose to do that. I don’t think they are even prioritizing the OW at all after the Microsoft acquisition. It should be the least favorite game under Blizzard’s wing currently.
