Sc2 login loop and i can't play online

From yesterday when i open the game it can’t connect to a server and confirm my account for online playing, i don’t have any window of error or anything, just an infinite login request loop (but if i type the password wrong i get the “wrong password error message”) i tried different things to solve this but anything worked. i really don’t know what happened that got me in this situation.

Same problem here: Cannot login in-game for 3 days now. Right now I am on Windows 10 Dev Channel build 20152, but it was also not working on the previous build (20150), but it was working OK on the build before that (19645).

the game isn’t working for me since 21 june and all the support is good to say is “call a technician”…

Hi everyone! “build 20152” of Win10 seems to be an Insider preview, which is technically unsupported by us. Until the release is official I would suggest returning to your previous Win10 versions if you wish to play SC2.

  1. @Ixthocaesil according to previous post, the error is here before build 20152 was released so it is not related to that particular build (error from june 21, build released on june 24).

  2. btw is anybody having the same problem on latest supported retail Windows build (19041) ?

Just adding a +1 for Windows 10 20152 version as the common cause - same symptoms, EUR server,

here is a new similar report about authenticating problem in-game on SUPPORTED Windows build, so finally Blizzard do something about it, it is definitely your fault now!

The build prior to 20152 had the same error. Does that mean we would have to opt out of the Insider program to play SC2?

Since this problem is present on different Windows builds, I doubt that reverting to older Windows build will fix the problem. We just need to wait for Blizzard to fix this. Since non-insiders builds is affected too, they will hopefully start looking into it instead of saying “you are using unsupported Windows version”… we just need to spam them with bug repots from Battle.net app so that they know that many people are affected.

okay, so for users on Windows Insider builds, the latest build contains this fix: “We’ve fixed an issue causing some games and applications to crash at launch or fail to install.” and that fixed the authentication issue in SC2. not sure what fix is need for those on Windows retail builds though…

Still having this issue not only on the latest Windows Insider build but also on my laptop and backup desktop with a retail 2004 build of Windows… Tried everything with no joy. Bnet app and Warcraft III are working though, so it’s quite obvious it’s a server issue…? Blizzard, i love you but you’re really starting to annoy me… Shall we be nice and blame Activision? It’s CoD’s fault…

That’s not great to hear, are you able to please upload your system files to pastebin.com and reply with the links to the files using the preformatted text option to encapsulate the links.

I’d love to… Just took the time to write a post with links, in the manner you said, as hyperlink or as plain text…but i’m not allowed to post links! Well done Blizzard, another big fat #fail at support… LOL!

I can try… The contents of MSInfo (minus all but the first 10 lines of ‘Windows Error Reporting’ to reduce size is here: Not allowed!

And DXDiag is here: Not allowed!

FYI it does appear to be loading on my laptop now, though i got a blue screen twice, but that’s likely due to a failed overclock on the GPU (lol) so can be ignored - point is, it starts and logs in fine! Seems odd if it’s a Windows Insider build problem though as, well… literally EVERYTHING ELSE i use, play and run works perfectly fine. Just not SC2! Is it your server’s front/backend that’s blocking authorization of people with a particular OS ID string? I did also change out my motherboard a month or so back from a Gigabyte Aorus Z370 Gaming 7 to a Z390 Designare if that’s any additional help.

I will re-state though, that every other single program, game, app etc i use -works perfectly fine- except Starcraft II, this is pretty much an issue your end. So please don’t suggest to “go back” to a retail build as wiping Windows isn’t an option, nor is it acceptable advice to ‘fix’ this problem as it happens for people on retail builds too!

Well? How can i send you links to my diag files if i can’t post any?

I thought you could at least fix your forum/website to allow a customer and long-time fan (Diablo II/WC2 days…) to post you some links? Or make it possible to PM you them?

Thought you would have at least managed a reply by now…? Lol…

Same problem here, I’m on Windows 10 Build 20152. I have the 1909 official windows 10 on the other HDD, so I will try later to login from the official build to see what happens and get back to you guys. Any luck with the build 20152?
