2.0 bug / bad new feature: 'idle worker' NOT jumping to idle worker anymore

Hello there Blizz. Thank you for your work on Warcraft 3 Reforged and your improvements to the game. I like the new search filters for replays or maps.

Beein playing around with 2.0, few matches. Noticed it (title)

Why change core features of the game that people are used to for years (and I did not even see a patch note for it), but not offer even an option to disable it.

Everytime I click on idle worker button or “F8” in the past it jumped to that worker. It was very useful to give it work at once, or at least I am very used to this being the case. Now it won’t do anything but select it, it might be located anywhere on the map in a busy game… (of course I know how to jump to it, but that’s double the action I needed before - yes frequent double click is actually much more with all the other actions in the game, mind you: without having asked for it or wished for it…)
Would you please not change the core mechanics but offer an alternative in the options .
Perhaps you can offer it via settings.txt for advanced users? Incase you did not want to bloat the options. The new feature is personally of no use to me.

PS: Not thinking for myself here solely, but with most returners - casual players - who might have idle workers more often than not, it is even more strain. Again it’s not like an army hotkey that you just select to send somewhere on the minimap (and that you always - should - know where it is…), but you simply wanna jump to that entity which happened to get idle anywhere and give it another task directly, be it build another farm, harvest wood or gold nearby; even when used as scout I have never wished for this.

Thanks for reading my feedback.
Please keep it up

Totally agree.

This bug creates a frustrating gameplay experience because when selecting an idle worker, I typically intend to assign tasks like gathering gold, harvesting lumber, or constructing buildings. Without the automatic camera snap, I now need an additional click to manually adjust the camera, which disrupts the gameplay flow and diminishes the player experience.

Yea. I mean there is a reason, MAC has no double click (nor any new systems with touch). But it offers an option if you prefer it. Even windows offers to change the double click behaviour. I imagine the change was due to feedback from some player, but from my point of view who changed this without giving a (n advanced) workaround hasn’t played the game in PvP.

Btw: If this is a feedback - at first I assumed it’s a bug-, they have a separate forum. It’s not linked in the app unfortunately, but you can get there simply by swapping eu with us in the weblink. Hopefully any reader will consider supporting this subject matter there in that case.

This isn’t a bug, It was an intended design change, that apparently some number of people asked for. However, there should have been an option for it, rather than thrusting it on everybody (I don’t like it any more than you do, personally).

Thanx i keep looking for an option. totally ruins the gameplay for me. I don’t know who asked not sure why TF you would the even bother to be so annoyingly petty for something such as this? to the point Activision got to ruin it for others? I wouldn’t even be playing them. Now I’m just gonna go play something not Activision. I’m done with anything associated with that greedy monopoly. when my wow script runs out im done. cya on the 34th of neverwary.
