I am asking because the last time I tried to play, I had to download 20gb’s which was supposed to be Reforged, but I could NOT play Reforged because I didn’t buy it. Can I play Warcraft 3 without downloading 20gb? I still have the disc and I am 100% sure that I don’t have to download all that to play the old game. And I am not interested in buying Reforged either. The menu was running on really low fps, the only thing that looked different in game were the health bars. Rest was vanilla.

Hi Harris! The Reforged Client is where you play Classic and Reforged WC3, we have just the one client now to support both games, you don’t need to buy Reforged either just make sure the CD keys for WC3 are attached to your Blizzard account.
Just install the old game client. Google search for the updates until 1.27 or 1.30 and do NOT upgrade to this BS “game”.

Stunts like this make me want to support pirated games. Having to install a 30gb client (one! excluding expansion!) just to play through the campaign again gives me a headache. Good thing I kept all my original discs, sadly I don’t have them with me.

the CD keys for WC3 classic are attached to my account. Makes no difference. Going from my account>classic games>download>goes straight to reforged. game version only says “warcraft 3”. When launching? reforged. This is infuriating!!! And you can see the same all over this forum. We want you to remove/delete reforged. am I being clear?
