Same for me - treid it like 30 times. Tried all of the “manipulating” with the compatibly mode - nothing.

We received some similar reports, it’s still under investigation. For the moment, there’s possibly an issue with the update as some of you still have the 1.32. In doubt, please delete and reinstall the game.
If it’s still not working after that, please try deleting Warcraft 3 in the documents folder and then follow the steps of this article in case of a connection issue :
I turned off the firewall, uninstalled the game, and reinstalled the game, but I was still stuck in the lion’s head door and couldn’t enter the game. I haven’t changed any settings and it played without any issues before update 1.33.

New update about mine solutions. After deleting wc3 MultiTools(that allowed me to by pass problem) i was able to go trought lion gate loading screen. Now i don’t know how it got fixed at all it just started working for me…
Not sure if luck or if it is a “fix”. I removed BN-“app” and reinstalled it today. If I start the game by first starting Battle.net and then press play I have managed to get past “lion screen of death”. If I start the game by the created WC3-shortcut created from game installation (I have reinstalled as well) I get stuck at LSOD.

Edit. To be exact, i did not reinstall anything. i just closed the app in system tray, then started it again , app alone, and then clicking on play button. i tried it with WC3 shortcut, it never worked.
I have the same problem. Reinstalled Windows, reinstalled battle.net and reinstalled Warcraft, and the game still crashes right away on launch. Windows 10 x64.
Same issue for me. Its so sad to periodically have blizzard make our game unplayable until they figure out the new issues they introduced. Tried everything on this thread btw and the most i achieved was to get past the lion screen into a black screen. What a shame
Tried reinstall again today with deleting everything related to W3 but still game crashing on lionscreen. Some tournaments got postponed for bugs too.
Idk maybe it would be better to rollback to 1.32. But there are only few of us that cant lauch the game so no hope for us I guess.
I have same issue, trick with WC3-Multi Tool not helped.
Is it possible to rollback to 1.32 only for my game? or this decision will be for all?
FIX: I found a way. As written earlier - start battle.net app first then game - works. Dont start with the desktop icon ^^

i found another way, i install starcraft, goodbye my old warcraft friend, best 1.26 will be always in my heart
I still can’t get into the game to this day, try to click the fixes game button, but still can’t get into the game

There’s currently an issue with old CPU users crashing at launch, it’s mainly affecting Core 2 Duo/Quad CPUs (E8400, Q9550, Q6600, etc). This is something we’re working on.
For others, as mentioned in the thread, deleting the game folder in the documents and launching the game from the play button should do the trick.
Mac users might need to update their OS and/or check the permissions (1/2).
