Do not buy! Refund!

It seems nobody at Microsoft, Activision or Blizzard plays Warcraft 3 (or Warcraft 2). :police_car_light:

I currently recommend you do NOT buy the DLC. Many players have refunded the DLC.

  • The DLC forsaken kingdom is unfinished, according to users on US forum the dlc is only 65% finished. Meaning you are playing an alpha version that hasn’t been properly tested. You cannot load your saved games, game crashes, poorly optimized, difficulty not balanced, slow pace and bugs are everywhere. Patches are reverted, things can be made simple but are not. 30 euro price when the DLC should instead have been released for free to compensate for letting the community down in the past (the release of reforged was bad and patch 2.0 also broke the game). There already are custom campaigns/maps for free with similar gameplay. Almost all custom maps are now broken in some way and the world editor is now cluttered and bloated since 10gb+ of “slop” was added to the game.

  • We love this game and want it to be improved. Some years ago Blizzard developers did post on forums which was amazing but new policy forbids it? :upside_down_face: The communication from Blizzard has been lacking for instance regarding saved games files not working. There is zero information from Blizzard in-game and on Battlenet Desktop App (depending on which region you have selected for the game, but now seems more regions have been included which is great). Also information such as patch notes not being published on the Warcraft 3 news page. You have to go to US forum to read news. EU forum should be merged with US forum at least.

  • The DLC campaign is singleplayer only, but it would have been fun with 2 player co-op instead. It seems they want to phase out multiplayer and don’t support any real official tournaments with prize pool. Blizzcon classic cup would be perfect to invite the best players from Battlenet ladder to compete against each other, instead of paid influencers. “WC3 legacy client” was released singleplayer only which splits the community further. They focus only on selling the game instead making you play it longer (targeting new audience, particularly children and casuals).

  • The DLC makes it an RPG game similar to WoW/Diablo, to appeal mostly to casual gamers to try to maximize profits. There is no base building or using armies and tactics which is disappointing for many fans, Warcraft 3 is an RTS game. If people want diablo they can play diablo instead. What Blizzard should instead be doing is uniting the entire Warcraft 3 community by fixing old bugs, matchmaking and improving main menu design etc. to bring all players to the official game client (Battlenet), since most WC3 fans are currently playing on illegal game clients.

  • They want to make Wacraft 3 playable on mobile phone and publish the game on Netflix and Social Media. They tried to do that with “Warcraft Rumble” game but that game failed, so now they try to use and remake Warcraft 3 for that purpose using existing fanbase. Hence we are for instance seeing new DE mobile game graphics (childish graphics) and game being “dumbed down” for instance car racing gameplay. HD classic graphics was removed which is fine. But the ability to mix graphics was also removed which is bad, for instance you can no longer have classic graphics for units and reforged graphics for terrain. The new DE graphics don’t work in other campaigns (ROC and TFT).

  • Please stop copy pasting abilities and gameplay from Starcraft 2. There is too much unnecessary “slop” being added, we need minimalism. If people want starcraft 2 then they can play starcraft 2.

  • No diversity which Blizzard is known for. For instance mostly handpicked male influencers seen playing the game/being hosts/commentators at Blizzcon classic cup. The new forsaken paladin hero for melee mode should have been a female, we already have 20 male heroes but only 4 female heroes. It also breaks the lore by having undeads as paladins. For instance female draenei paladin would have been more awesome and lore accurate. The new forsaken paladin does not belong in melee mode since it breaks the game balance and should be removed, it is only good for singleplayer and is copied from Kerrigan hero Starcraft 2 campaigns.

  • None of the old bugs and issues in the game have been fixed and there are hundreds of them, for instance you still can’t see who you are whispering to when in a lobby in custom games, and main menu design such as invites to lobby and party is still unfinished. The existing heroes have still not been balanced and fixed.

  • Paying influencers to talk positive about something that is obviously poor quality. And hosting tournaments with handpicked influencers instead of inviting the top players from Battlenet ladder to compete in real tournaments with real stakes. When will Blizzard organize official annual tournament for Warcraft 3?

Do not give them your money until things improve. They want to remove the “war” from “Warcraft” which makes no sense why anybody would say that. Please keep “slop” out of Warcraft 3. Keep in mind the developers are doing an excellent work, the problem is the culture and management at Microsoft since they took over (seems the marketing team and WoW team have taken over control of Warcraft 3). I don’t know if there is a culture of fear or what’s going on. You are not allowed to have fun with friends and there is a lack of passion for games. Many people are getting fired at Microsoft and studios are shutting down due to poor quality games which customers don’t want (look what happened to Halo, Gears of War, Call of Duty etc.). In 2-3 years we might see improvements for Warcraft 3 but now we will only see downgrades being done to this legendary game.

Warcraft 2 has been ruined with the remaster and then abandoned (which I already posted about on WC2 forum). It made me more upset because I used to play it with my dad. I even played the “Playstation 1” version of the game where you can queue units for instance in barracks, a feature they still haven’t added in the remastered version.

Remember the terrible season 1 and 2 of tv show Picard, and then came the excellect season 3 which the fans wanted. So in the future I believe we will be able to restore the damage done to Warcraft 3 from patch 3.0 and other patches. You can see how much damage has been done to Starcraft 2 and they are somewhat starting to revert patches, same with WoW Retail where they are starting to revert things but in WoW Forever.

Jesus man, stfu. Are you even serious or just trolling?

No, it would be neither awesome nor accurate. In the old Warcraft 3 lore, there was basically no such thing as the draenei, because they had all been wiped out by the orcs.
And because a woman cannot be a knight wearing plate armor and wielding a giant hammer.
I mean, women could be almost anything — mages, archers, rogues, priestesses, warlocks — but not heavily armored tanks. That would be cringe.

Blizzard is known for diversity, but I guess the deadline was too tight so they didn’t have time to think about it or something? Here is a link to a page on their website:

There are plenty of women who play Warcraft 3, HOTS or WoW that they could have invited to Blizzcon classic cup to play or be hosts/commentators. I don’t know if any of the devs are, but making the new hero a woman should have been a no-brainer (for melee mode).

There are draenei in Outland in the Warcraft 3 “Blood elves campaign” when you play as Kael, for instance Akama helps you fight the fel orcs. But I’m talking about draenei from WoW which look badass when it comes to wearing plate and using big weapons. Here are a few links which type of draenei I mean:

I think that’s unfair to say. In WoW Classic you can select either male or female when creating a new character such as paladin which isn’t cringe. And in Warcraft 3 they added female version of for instance death knight in collection (although the classic graphics versions are unfinished and need more work).
Forsaken paladin is using what appears to be a one handed sword, not a giant hammer. For female draenei paladin you could remove the plate helmet similar to the video I linked, to better match your rules. For instance the human paladin and undead death knight don’t wear a helmet.
