Error in handling the request

I only own wc3 classic and didn’t buy reforged. Downloaded that shitty 20+gb update and now I just get “There was an error in handling the request” when opening the game. Can’t even play single player. Thanks alot blizzard

Same, honestly this is starting to feel like i was robbed, i can’t play my 20 year old game even in offline mode what the hell is this

I got the same problem, i hope they will fix this…
Edit: OK guys i figured it out, do this and will work, it worked for me!
So you need to redeem the war3 codes from the box/cassette where the 2 cd are, the code for me is written on the inside of the box/cassette, if u have those 2 codes, 1 for Reign of Chaos and 1 for The Frozen Throne then you need to go to the blizzard site https://eu.forums.blizzard.com and then go to your account settings (you need to create an account if u don’t have one) there u can see the “Redeem a code” option, write the 2 codes there (1 by 1, not both at the same time) and if they work and the codes are legit you should be able to login successfully in the game (i unninstalled my game and then reinstalled it from the site without using the cd after that). Hope it works for everyone that has the issue.

Same problem, Blizzard sticking their head in the sand on this error though and waving it off as “This is an error related to the beta version, try running the live servers” while it’s clearly stated we’re trying to run europe, americas or asia and the problem persist.

I am a dummy, I was trying to launch the game on a different battle.net account which did not have my warcraft III CDkey linked

Same problem here. WTF Blizzard please fix this. Let us play old version too.

If this error from cd key! So why blizzard let me dl 30 gb game and then wants to me use cd key!! Maybe i dont have one and if i know that never dl game

I have Frozen Throne and it is registered and when I try to redeem it as the advice says it says I already own this game so I can’t fix this dilemma on my end.

i did all that and reinstalled the gamen but it still wont start

This problem still persists and occured post in-game disconnection + high ping ~2000 ms, this happened more than 100 times. Any chance to diagnose this ongoing issue, @Blizzard?

Something further to try for this error is to make sure it’s not being caused by the Application being blocked by your Security features: Troubleshooting Security Applications - Blizzard Support

Usually making sure an exception for the game in the program can fix this.

Me and my friend wanted to play clasic so I bought it and even got an option to download another “lovely” blizzards launcher, I did, and pooooof surprise you cant play it because you have to play our f***** updated version… then refund us ffs

Oh and you cant play the new version because you dont have another w3 version whereas tft is not enough to have…
