After latest patch, 1.35. I launched game once, played couple custom games and then quit. After a few days I try to play again but im getting stuck at Lion screen. Game randomly disappears from task manager and I got a cable internet. Every other game works, so no issues on internet. Any ideas what can fix? I have reinstalled game and booted my router. no fix.
got the same issue, fresh installed the game after 2 years, connected via cable to a private fiber line, so no issues there, opened the required Ports on my Modem / Router.
game just stuck on the lion head and does nothing, not even CPU / RAM consumption goes up, just sit there idle and stuck
Ofcourse reforged had like 10000 different bugs and reduced QoL features that I’ve had to accept but nevertheless I’ve still played the game not trying to think about those 30GB of HD space that is wasted for a product I never wanted to buy and never will.
Now I’m also, very randomly stuck on the lions head and I miss simply having WC3 Classic on my local drive which wasn’t interfered with by Blizzard.
Maybe I’ll pirate it in the future, it’s not actually real piracy since I own it but have to do that now anyway since Blizzard is a greedy pos.
This has been happening to others too and there’s been a plethora of “fixes” that seem to rarely work. I remember playing Reforged when the game first launched just fine and tried playing a year later only to have this lion gatekeeping me from the game. It’s no surprise to me that even now in 2023 this is STILL an issue, one that seems to be tied to Battle.net and one they will never fix because they don’t earn enough to care about fixing it when their other games have enough issues to fix/ignore as well. It pisses me off to no end, best thing is to uninstall, remove it from the Favorites and Desktop, and try to simply enjoy the nostalgic memories before capitalism started its inevitable creep into the gaming world.
I am stuck on the Lion as well, attempted opening up firewall and reinstalled on a different SSD to no avail. Anyone have any fixes that have worked for them?
It is generally advised to not revive old posts. Even if the description of the issue is similar. What ever caused the Original Poster’s issue is unlikely to be the same as what is causing your current issue.
Now as for the issue, the most common causes are Network/Connection issues. (and yes they can affect one service and not another)
Client Corruption
Software Conflicts
Permission issues.
Try doing an extended power cycle on your system. Turn off all devices including the modem. Wait 30 minutes, turn on the modem, wait 5 minutes, turn on any network devices, wait 2 minutes, turn on your computer and try the game.
You can try switching your DNS settings to use a free public DNS servers instead of your ISPs Servers:
We do not have individual steps for specific modems or routers so if you need assistance accessing or updating the devices, contact the device maker/provider.
In some cases there is a corrupt or misconfigured setting within the router or modem. We cannot say what that might be offhand but the easiest way to resolve these conflicts would be to factory reset the router and/or modem.
You may need to look up your specific model for the steps on how to do this and in some rare cases you may need to have this done by the ISP. Feel free to reach out to them for assistance if necessary.
Let’s reset the in game user options:
- Right click Windows Start, Open File Explorer
- Navigate to the documents folder on your PC
- Delete the War3Preferences.txt file under the Warcraft III folder.
- Empty the Recycle Bin.
Try running your system in selective startup mode: Blizzard Support - Closing Background Applications
Create a new administrator account: Blizzard Support - Creating a New Administrator Account
Once the account is created, shut down the computer, wait 60 seconds, restart, log into the new profile and try the app/client.
If that does not solve the issue, I recommend submitting a technical support ticket so you can provide some system information. (Click your name at the top right of this screen, click support, click contact support.)
Hi! I got the lion’s gate then it disappeares , after that i get black screen and the mouse cursor and it stays like that , how can it be solved?
every solution has nothing to do whit the probles these ppl and i have its ether a blackscreen or the lionsgate and this is a game software problem which means fixx your god damn games for once and stop giving bulshit that isnt even there
becausse you always shove it to us while its clearly a problem you guys have fix it
since repair and scan didnt work since it whas saying the files are alright starting it as admin doesnt help ether its from your side since this game has free rain through my Firewall aswhell and isnt blocked by my provider Ziggo
so this is from your side when you made it Reforged even the normal old disc works fine
yet i dont have them by hand unfortunatly
