After installing the new patch this is the message I get when I try to start the game (War3 TFT) on my Win 7 PC with a Radeon RX550. The game has worked more than fine all these years. I do not own Reforged.
As of now I can’t even enter it to see the lion gates screen. All I get is this error:
Same for me. Someone on reddit suspects it doesn’t run on w7 anymore.
The minimum system requirements clearly state win 7 or higher.
There has to be a simple fix for this made available by Blizzard or someone else.
Surely this affects a lot of players. I can’t even get inside the game.
It’s the only game I play after work for 2 decades now.
100% agree. I tried everything and i still can’t launch the game.
Edit: It does in fact seem to be the same for all win 7 users.

Tried using VxKex API that I use to run some Windows 10/11 apps on 7 but it doesn’t work in this case. I don’t think they dropped support for W7 because it would be a different kind of error, more likely they simply forgot about us lol.
I’m having the same problem.

I cannot find that for the life of me. Also if I try to search for it I get this error: you searched for it too many times (on my first try).

Does the game work for anyone under Windows 7? Please post here if it does.
Pretty safe to assume at this point that 2.0 doesn’t launch for any win7 users
5 days and not a word on this…
They just released a 2nd hotfix for mac users a few mins ago
16 days and we still cannot play a 2002 old game under Windows 7
I’ve updated the PTR, and it runs correctly on my Windows 7 machine. I’m here to say thank you, Blizzard dev team, for giving us hope to keep playing this game 
. I hope to see this new patch go live soon.
Tried the PTR still doesn’t work for me. I get the “game data unable to load and must be repaired” error. I clicked repair and afterwards I get the same message.
