"There was an error in handling the request."

So I just tried starting Warcraft 3, and I don’t own reforged, because I’d rather play the classic version, but instantly get the message “There was an error in handling the request.”.

I do own the game(s), and have never in my life had this error before, luckily.

What do I do?

I am having the same issue trying to launch the game… I have been playing JUST fine for damn near the past year. But today i get this error. Other post suggest “redeem your code”. NO that is NOT the issue here sice Ive had zero issue playing as late as yesterday without a problem.

And no Blue Name, It is not blocked by my network security. Yes it belongs to me and I see it in my games and have been playing just fine before today. It does NOT belong to another account.

Interesting, all 3 of us have the same error and its so recent.
Probably caused by some new update/f*** up by blizzard themselves…

Judging by older post about the issue, Any bets they deflect and its not ‘their fault’…

i have the exact same issue . i dc while in game and after i try to log in i got the same error.

Many players appear to have this problem, on istheservicedown.in(istheservicedown[dot]in/problems/battlenet-blizzard-entertainment/map), there is a map of lots of reporters, some refferencing our error message “There was an error in handling the request.”

According to this Blizzard forum post(eu.battle[dot]net/support/en/article/000199184) , this is due to trying to play the game when you don’t own Warcraft III, which is obviously false in our case. (I even tried following the instructions on the forum post and re-enter my Warcraft III license key but I just got the message that I have already claimed that code.)

For whoever might be troubleshooting this: I own WC3 Reign of Chaos and WC3 Frozen Throne but not WC3 Reforged.

(I don’t have permission to post links here, thus the formatting)

Same Problem, Reinstall didn’t fix it.

I literally just played hours ago. Now trying to open the client, and I get this error…

I am having this same issue

same thing over here, any reply from Blizzard?

I also have this problem, I have tried all the fixes. I deleted AppData folders, I re-installed the game, I have all the CD-keys linked to my account, looked for connection or firewall issues.

Though, I find it hard to believe that it’s on my end when it was working well for the longest time, now all of a sudden it has issues that affect a decent amount of people at the same time.

I wonder though because it was mentioned that somebody didn’t own reforged, how many of the people here with this issue don’t have reforged? J/wing.

Yep same, i played last night

same here, worked fine yesterday (classic version)

same here, just tested it, cannot play warcraft 3, last week it was working fine.

Same here. Can we get a blue with more info?

I have the same problem.

Doesnt work for me either. :disappointed:

i just want to play my old game, i bet people who bought the overpriced “reforged” dont have this issue. thanks for fucking us over once again Blizzy-chan

and here I was thinking it’s just me… For me atleast it started off with, initializing update, waiting for another update loop. Fed up, I uninstalled and reinstalled Warcraft (classic RoC / TFT redeemed CDKEYS) only to be greeted by this error. I am guessing this has to do with CDKEYS not being recognised by battle.net server. Even though both the RoC / TFT CDKEYS are linked to the account. And Reforge status: Active.

Still waiting to hear from support…

Same Problem here.
