World Editor not using HD models

After reinstalling the game and the battle.net launcher AND setting the preferences to HD, World Editor won’t load the Reforged models no matter what I do.
Is there something I’m supposed to do?

Yup, same. Can’t see any way to make it consistently strictly load Reforged models or strictly non-Reforged models. Right now, my maps seem to load the Reforged models for some units and non-Reforged models for other units. No clue why or what controls it - seems like a bug to me.

This makes it impossible to properly set properties of units (scale, color, special effect attachments, etc) in a way so that it fits seamlessly between Reforged models or seamlessly between non-Reforged models - because to do that you need to be able to properly preview your models while working in the editor which you can’t right now with everything using different models in a completely chaotic manner.

It also only loads the HD-classic textures of terrain and trees etc., I cannot find a way to make it load the Reforged textures of terrain and trees etc. while working in the editor.

Wonderful, keep introducing more bugs to the already bug-riddled Reforged world editor.

Well at least it’s not just me.
I was going crazy trying to figure out what I was doing wrong… was excited to see what I could make with the new models but I guess I’ll have to wait until they fix this.

Same problem. Even though both World Editor and the map are set to HD graphics, it still loads all models that have both SD and HD versions in SD. The game itself shows models correctly.
This issue emerged after updating to v2.0.0, World Editor graphics worked well before.
Can’t edit my map properly as it is for HD graphics only. Would be grateful for a quick fix.

I’m having the same issue, and the odd thing I’m seeing is that some reforged models/icons are on display while others aren’t.

IE: Jungle Stalker models only have 2/3 reforged models, and the same can be said for Mur’ghuls. Gul’dan and Drak’thul have their classic models as well.

File ->Preferences → Asset Mode HD → Uncheck all the boxes → Close and reopen the editor.

Those check boxes apparently mean “Use the HD version of the old graphics.”

I’m experiencing the same issue as noted above. Even after setting the assets to HD, restarting, the oldschool WC3 models still populate, not the newer reforged graphics.

Blizzard, Please Advise.

This helped quite a bit… It’s definitely better now. Models, doodads and textures seems to be back to almost normal (Though the trees are looking more “cartoonishy” now than before (kinda like a new design), and waterfalls now has greenish color instead of blue). However, there are still issues with some of the tilesets, as the tilesets available in the editor, under the different kinds of “base tilesets” (fx Cityscape, Ashenvale etc.), seems to have been reverted back to Warcraft classic tiles, instead of the ones from Reforged.

for example. Some tiles like the black marble in the CITYSCAPE, was not included in the the Reforged version, while the Red bricks, was a new tile first seen in the Reforged version (I think). Now, the black marble is back, and the red bricks are nowhere to be found. I imagine there are lots of other changes to the tiles, that I have yet discoved.
This of course, means that many textures of old maps will have seen unwanted replacements for certain textures.

For example, The snow-tile in one of my maps, now looks very different. Cartoonishy, but unlike the trees, in a bad way. It looks awful. Overall, from what I can see, there are less tiles to work with. So, there are still some issues that needs attention. But, still, this solution was a big step in the right direction, so I thank you. My custom maps are closer to returning back to their normal selves.
