Hi there,
1 week ago, I was randomly disconnected from the game on my main character. Upon trying to log in to it again, I receive the error ¨A character with that name already exists¨, while you may think I just have to log into an alt and/or wait 15 min to be able to play the game, this was not the case. After countless conversations with Blizzard through live chats and tickets, my issue is still not resolved. It has been forwarded to the developers, and here I am waiting in shambles.
Unfortunately, I missed out on raids where I am currently trialing, and I can’t actually play at all. Numerous of solutions have been attempted, such as resetting my interface, deleting specific folders, reinstalling the game, deleting / restoring the character multiple times, server transferring around and back, even had GM’s trying to log in to my character and they couldn’t either.
Yet, whilst all of this has been attempted, I am just waiting in desperation to be able to play the game, and the developers have been on the case for 7 days now, which seems absurd for an issue like this. In my 16 years of playing this game, I’ve never seen or experienced similar to this, and especially not the required waiting time from Blizzard to solve this. I find it extremely shameful from such a large company to have such experiences regarding their service, which namely is paid for.
Has anyone else experienced similar or is in the same boat as I am?
