Ah, a fellow fever dream sufferer. They are weirdest things. Hope you get better soon.

Meanwhile. Back in the real world.

Afenton settles down for the night with an Ovaltine and Miss Marple, reminiscing about how she remembers it all and telling her cat close by ā€œI remember during the Crimean Warā€¦ā€

Youā€™ve heard of the Lady with the Lamp?
Afenton was known as the Lady with the Lavatory brush.

Nor can I ā€¦ but I can still remember a conversation with a school friend at the age of 8 when she told me I must vote for the Liberals when I grow up because the other parties wanted to ban fireworks. Personally Iā€™d be on the other partiesā€™ side nowadays as I hate fireworks.

I donā€™t like what fireworks do to my animals, and would love to see more use of silent fireworks!

On a different subject, I would like to note that quoting the policeman from 'allo 'allo needs a lot of care

That seems odd - though the rules say you mustnā€™t post about bans so you may want to edit your post. I would (personally) appeal it as it was an early evening comedy for the whole family to watch together and I canā€™t remember any expletives. Itā€™s also very quotable.

It wouldnā€™t get past ofcom now though! The on going joke about the painting of ze Madonna with ze bigā€¦ would place it squarely after the watershed.

In fact, I rewatch so many comedy shows from the 80s and early 90s and wonder how on earth I was allowed to watch them as a kid :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Thatā€™s the fun part with rules based on subjectiveness.
Personally I take it as a compliment. You know the joke was really funny if it lands you a 24h ban ^^
