Im on rent and my apartment has a/c. I barely switched it on cuz the elecricity bill lately is goin out of controlā¦ i prefer to go at work where is free
We dont usually get alot of heat here, but weāve had some periods here and there where i use the a/c on it right now its on heating though
I was also pogged to see that all new buildings for rent had built in A/C in here now, it really is becoming the norm here aswell.
I have a little fan for my desk and a bigger Dyson one near my bed in summer, I can survive with that. The problem here is that in the night during summer it often stays above 20Ā°C so it never really cools off. I live in an older house (3 apartments) on rent so I canāt install an A/C.
The worst I saw was once 27Ā°C at 1-2am, it was terribly humid and I remember that in that moment a terrible thunderstorm fueled with all the heat and humidity arrived, temps went down by at least 10Ā°C in a few minutes lol.
I have a fan running next to my bed all year long, i need the white noise to sleep
In my case not. This is a 60s home where the landlord (a friend of mine) installed ac 10 years ago.
Note that in the plain (pisnura padana) where i live, stay without ac in summer is ādifficultā bein hot and horribly humid.
Haha I wouldnāt hear it, I always sleep with earplugs (I have the silicone ones that are really great and last forever) so I donāt get awaken (my neighbors are really quiet but the house is old so you hear stuff easily).
You would think that here with the mountains and the lakes itās betterā¦ but not by that much. Milan I guess is pure hell in summer.
Dont forget mosquitos. But i guess here the true experts are our friends feom the north.
Northern mosquitos are higher level?
We have the tiger ones since a few years now, I know the issue. People barely stay in their gardens anymore in summer because theyāre everywhere even during the day.
Last august in scottish highlands i was astonjshed by the quantity of em.
We have a lot of stinging devils but thereā¦ is another world (maybe less stinging)
Adding Scotland and places with tiger mosquitos to the blacklist.
Were confused to notice with current place that theres no mosquito nets on the windows, apparently theyre built by cheap contractor who left alot basic things out. I did some stuff myself including the windows as we cant live here without stopping these from getting inside as theres just so many.
They crossed the Alps by now, so yeah, they are coming everywhere. You canāt escape. We only had the ānormalā ones that come out at night until 2010ish, tiger ones arrived from south (blame Italy) and keep going north. I think they are originally from China.
Yeah same in Finland, have to do something for them. Theyre constant and everywhere from spring to late autumn. Once did the mistake of go lapland for hiking mid of summer on the worst mosquito season, it ruined alot the experience when anytime you stop to drink or something theres cloud of mosquitos swarming on you. They cant fly walking speed but we cant just walk endlessly, outside of tent were also covered by them. Its said to be Floridas ānational birdā and I would say we have them enough to officially make them ours aswell.
Challenge accepted.
Grand Theft SpaceX
Cant we eradicate ticks and mosquitos from planet somehow. Ticks are increasingly becoming problem with the lyme disease. Deers not hunted enough and global warming spreading them more northern, theyre in lapland already theyre everywhere.
had a nice weekend making alts for various reasons. sorting out bags and mail. at least reached 515 on the dk tank which is nice, still no legendary. mailed some friends. posted on the forum a few times. yeah good weekend in general
I am eternally sleepy atm. Maybe itās the heat!
