That trick only work on wow servers, there is a delay that the beer stay in air for while so have time scoop it up to the glass 
By a legend and logic there is a trick if one ever wants an wolf into beer as a fishing (drinking) buddy, you leave trail of beer cans leading to a fishing boat and the boat full of beer. This is how you become friends with an Beerwolf
