You and me both buddy.

That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t complain about it. I mean what else am I supposed to do? Let the shower of garbage rain ontop of me and accept it like the good little boy I am? I’m doing that already with every new expansion Ion hands me, don’t need to do it with literally everything.

Only because reporting a crime doesn’t stop the crime from happening, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t report crimes.

If somebody breaches ToS, we should, rightfully, complain about it and demand a punishment. (At least in my opinion, although I don’t really mind breaches of the ToS if nobody gets hurt or bothered, but that’s something along the lines of victimless crimes, which is a very different debate)

I refuse to let this thread die until blizzard acknowledges the fact this is going on and we as players won’t stand for this BS anymore!

Today is kind of nutty, reset is obviously big business:-

oooh, I didn’t even think to look at pvp boosters!

I didn’t either on my first post :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Unless Blizzard want to start paying me per report I’m not willing to sit in LFG any more flagging all this. It’s ridiculous.

One day Blizz is going to implement an own Boosting channel in the tool. And perhaps even make a mute filter for the WTS spammers.

I am personally just fed up with sorting this. I got to spent 10 minutes of reporting so finally the real options can be seen… Then I refresh, and randomly I see all the same posts back up that I already reported once already. It doesn’t even help if I put them on my ignore list, they are still there. They clutter this system so badly, it is actually getting on my nerves.

Blizz, we just want to find people to play with. That is the whole point of the system. Don’t make us jump hurdles around boosters. It’s infuriating.

You can fix this easily: Take some sort of action against it and keep to it. Get Joe the intern to log into an account with a ban option, and let him refresh the tool server by server over a day - banning as he goes. And there you go, problem solved, at the cost of less than nothing.

Hexx always imagine da boost people spitting intensely at the corner of their mouths while spamming BOOST. Like dat very old rage comic face often used for LOOOOOL. Eyes be all crazy, mon.

I’m starting to think Blizz simply doesn’t care. Or they would have acknowledged or taken action from this thread.

It’s been an amazing effort and I fully support this. But it’s proven to have fallen on deaf ears :frowning:

Thought I’d go and check how my Alliance LFG looks around midnight-ish on a weekend.

Below that, there were 2 more boost ads and nothing more for Nathria heroic. I am all for gold boosting and do not have a vendetta against that (I too used to boost myself at one point), but they are not supposed to advertise in LFG. Just give them a separate tab already. Would benefit both the buyers and the sellers, since the people who want such a service would be able to search for those specifically. There’s only winners with this solution.

I found multiple real money boosting services from facebook ads. At one point they were everywhere. I blocked the advertisers and THANK GOD boosters haven’t figured out they can just make a new advertising account and get around me blocking them. Only to be blocked again, of course.

While I wouldn’t mind, it’s probably not in Blizzards interest to make boosting an officially supported thing inside the game.

Since you can’t really buy a boost via the ingame trade window, the player is responsible to not get scammed him/herself.

Officially including boosts in the LFG tool would probably make way more people hold Blizzard accountable for being scammed.

Don’t hate me but

I’d ask for the opposite of this - a specific LFG channel for selling boosts for in game gold.

Selling boosts for gold isnt a ToS violation, only the channel is. As it’s annoying to wade through boost selling spam to find non transactional groups, and probably asking too much of Blizzard to constantly police the current situation, just create a separate LFG channel for it and make it legal to do.

In addition, Blizzard may not see it as in its interests to crack down on a practice which keeps people playing the game and subscribing…?

The elephant in the room is the proportion of folks seeking boosts for gold can be correlated highly with one thing: Player frustration. Whereas some of this frustration can be put down to laziness or a cheat kind of mentality, I humbly submit that the bulk of it is down to poor and frustrating game design, for example:

If Torghast offered soul ash for each boss, not just the end boss, and the end boss wasn’t unkillable for many people, why buy a Torghast boost for gold?

If you love BGs, and get fully geared through honour, your BG experience shouldn’t be fighting those who have fully geared through conquest and have twice your stats or HP. If conquest gear was de-scaled to honour gear in BGs, why buy a conquest boost to do BGs?

If valor could be applied to LFR and HC dungeon loot, and earned through world quests etc, then those who can’t mythic or raid wouldn’t have to buy mythic or raid boosts to avoid hitting a total wall of stagnation in terms of item level.

If levelling an alt was much easier - for example - if you’ve geared your main to renown 40, your first alt levels 10% faster and starts its covenant with 10 renown, your second alt 20% and 20 renown; your first legendary is achieved from one Torghast run etc, then those frustrated at levelling alts woudn’t need to buy boosts.

The market for boosting exists partly from cheat mentality, but largely from bad game design which leaves a large amount of the player base isolated and frustrated. Make the game KINDER to people and I suspect not only would there be a better player retention but boosting would drop.

Today’s delights:-

I can just imagine a new player hitting 60, doing some queueable dungeons, learning it’s time for organised group content and going to the finder…

The look on their face as they start to feel like this is how it works in WoW. No actual groups, just carries sold for gold. Pay or quit, make your choice.

Goldshire is that way :arrow_right:

Why would I go there to strangle someone? o.O

oo my full of it this wow

Coming back with another few screenshots.

The blacked out groups are groupleaders who I’ve reported before and blacklisted for my own convenience, aka repeat offenders who have not been banned yet. I’ve temporarly disabled the blacklist to take those screenshots.

Breaking WoWs rules is clearly fine. Otherwise it would be punished, right?

Irrelevant question but, what is the addon that shows the class colours above the icons?
