0 FPS in combat, 120 FPS out of combat

I’ve been having a FPS issues the last couple of days when doing group content. Outside of combat the game runs great (80-120) fps but as soon a raid boss is pulled it instantly drops to below 0.

My PC barely seems to be doing anything below are some stats I copied from a screenshot of the msi afterburner overlay while doing FR andrunning on the lowest graphic settings and all mods disabled.

GPU: 10%
GPU Temp: 45C
VMEM: 1582mb
CPU Average : 19%
CPU Temp: 34C
CPU1: 16%
CPU2: 16%
CPU3: 27%
CPU4: 13%
CPU5: 23%
CPU6: 16%
MEM: 10764mb

FPS: 8

Some basic pc specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
  • GPU: GTX 960 2GB
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • The game is on a Samsung 850 pro SSD

So far I have tried the following:

  • Clean reinstall of my GPU drivers as suggested in this thread.
  • Reinstalling the game.
  • Lowered graphics settings
  • Disabled all mods.
  • Unplugging my second display.

This problem only seems to be effecting WoW, I’ve had both AC:Origins and Forza Horizon 4 running at 60 fps this week and even in wow the game seems to run fine outside of combat.

When exactly did the low fps in combat issue start?
I’ve had this problem as well the last couple of days. Started wednesday the 16th I think.
From ~130 fps in combat, in 3v3 arena, till around 90-110 in combat (3v3 arena).
The fps outside combat is unchanged.

Hey Bobbygondo,

Thank you for listing all the steps you have gone through so far. I would like you to try one more thing right away though:

Disabling your addons does not remove them from the game, which means they can still cause some odd issues. Please clear your UI (addons) and test again afterwards. If you use an addon manager, disable that as well (before starting World of Warcraft again) to prevent it from restoring your addons and settings.

Have a few seconds to spare? Let me know how I’m doing!

Hi Bobbygondo,
Did you manage to fix your fps issues, I’m experiencing the same issue. :frowning: Feelsbad.
