So can we have somebody from comm council to post this on the comm council as blizzard clearly doesn’t care about anything anyone posts here . 1 mill total gold pot and lego bow presold to warr for 350 k gold (over gold cap also ) . Can we have a statement by someone from classic team on this open in your face RMT ? How do you think this makes feel anyone who is legit farming gold and not swiping ? If you don’t wanna moderate your game , then at least you can make classic f2p and put wow token in and let whales be whales , bcs of this and some other stupid things ( stupid but not that big ) makes warmane more and more likely place for a lot of people to play wrath , bcs at least there we are not paying for anything .

Wrath desperately needs fresh servers.
Sane people who want to play wotlk and bots, oilers, gdkpers + other scum must be separated or blizzard will fail to keep playerbase who wish to return

GDKPers are already on their way to the thread to complain that you cannot take away their gold making method which benefits hugely from RMT. 1 mil pot? Nah, totally legit, the 3 buyers farmed their 330k+ with primal fires :). Or maybe saved the sum by not buying useless skills while leveling, as those cost a lot of gold. Or or, this is my favorite, they played the auction house! Every GDKP buyer is a professional AH flipper and makes 100k a week easily, since it is just that easy and anyone can make it happen by watching a 5 minute youtube video.
Sarcasm aside, GDKP in its core is a nice loot system and I am all for having it in the game. But only if all gold spread via GDKPs into the economy would be farmed legitimately / by hand. But we all know it is not and it will never be. Thus I’m against it. Blizzard simply will never be able to care enough to crack down properly on gold selling/buying/botting and thus GDKP should be banned.

I doubt anyone else still has doubts that gdkp hosts are g2g sellers and gdkp buyers are g2g buyers
The only question what blizzard can do, fresh servers could be easiest option to get rid of it
Fresh servers help only with establishing new guilds and finding a raid spot.
If a fresh server gets popular and won’t die like any non-megaserver, the economy will get just the same like on any other server that progressed from TBC, within couple of days. Blizzard is incapable of dealing with bots so fresh server or not, economy will be scuffed.

bots had 3 years to farm since classic, so no way fresh servers can be scuffed like that
classic inflation is catching up to retail which is ridiculous
You underestimate bot power. Bots are also getting developed and better (did I really say this?) over time.
I am like 90% sure that economy in a fresh Wotlk Classic MEGAserver will be just as scuffed as everywhere else before P1 end. And a fresh server that don’t reach megaserver numbers is condemned to death, sooner or later, just like any non-megaserver.

But many players buying gold spending little gold on something, raising pots channeling this gold to other players till more and more bot money goes allround in gdkp pots.
These arent single handedly players buying tons of gold, more like many players buying gold that gets tunneledi nto fewer players in gdkp grps.
Still bad for the game. But i think gdkp with those pots are just the symptoms not the causing problem. i dont like and do gdkp aswell
Yeah I don’t mind “smaller” GDKP’s where people drop a few hundred per item. That’s reasonable. Like anyone could spend a week casually farming 1k gold and buying some items with that. But these ridic. amounts that people are dropping in the bigger GDKP’s are just like, I mean you know there’s a lot of “bad” gold circulating in those GDKP’s. It feels really dirty.

In terms of real world gold value 350k gold in Classic is a massive amount of money, I don’t know the exact conversion rate but we’re talking more than your monthly rent. The funny part is that it went to a Warrior, the dps gain over the 2nd best option is something like 1-2dps and the dps gain over the 3rd best option (SWP trash thrown/ZA bow) is approximately the same as using a scroll consumable.
350k gold for 20dps increase over the 3rd/4th best option, with WOTLK soon coming. The person has to be completely mentally compromised or Elon Musk sponsored.

Well its beyond repair atm.
We would need a literal reset, closing all down and starting all servers fresh from 0 and having Blizz on board with banning GDKP and doubling down on gold sellers / buyers.
Since the above wont happen…u must learn to live with it, or sub out.

The average payout in a GDKP run is between 1.5-2k gold. Maybe 1k more when there’s a new tier. Do the math, think 350k for one item is still just GDKP payouts someone ‘saved up’? Not a chance. Just like Gressil in Classic that was bought for 100+k.

You want to play classic proper ? You are almost forced to buy gold. You can thank Blizzard for that, they do nothing about the legion of bots, gold sellers and GDKP runs.
In the end people buy stupid amounts of gold, buy items. Resulting in a metric ton of raw gold entering the economy. People suddenly have a ton of gold, the prices start going up and up to compensate.
In the end your average player is paying 15g per Elixir = one wipe is 60-80g (If not more on some servers).
If you are not selling boosts or doing the other illegal stuff and are just farming that means you probably need to put your back into it quite hard for just one wipe.
So again, the choice comes down to buy or not get accepted into any Guild worth its salt. And what does Blizzard do about it ? Nothing. Count the sub money.

Agreed. That will permanently remove this problem completely permanently for at least 2 months until the bots have farmed up enough gold for it to no longer matter.

fresh servers will literally be the exact same thing as the ones we have now in a months time. demand for gold on the fresh servers is going to be even higher.
Sorry while I think its likely to be bought gold, all of you people should become a little realistic here. Goldfarming is not hard, there is farms out there where you get 300-900g in an hour without boosting anyone.
If you have lets say 100k gold from gdkps / doing it on many chars a week so it would add up easily to it and then flip the AH you can make 20k in just a day by flipping.
Hate on the players who buy gold, but there is many farms out there if you are smart enough which could have made you a million alone just by standing at the ah all day since the entirety of tbc.
Resetting the gold will have nearly 0 effect. The only thing it will do is keep it cool for a few weeks. You seem to have forgotten that the game is generating more and more gold with each expansion - trash items sell for more, there are dailies (this may not seem like a concern but if the average player affords to spend more gold on mats, bots make more gold)
The problem that needs to be addressed is obviously botting and RMT.

I’ve heard this but I’ve yet to see anyone post any kinda gold farm that yields anything. Either they are all keeping this such a big secret or it doesn’t exist, and everytime someone posts this kinda thing the number gets higher and higher without any substance behind it.
Nobody is farming gold to pay for this stuff, it’s all botted gold that is bought and traded around. This isn’t gold someone got from farming fire motes, or warlocks, nor gathering herbs or ore in their spare time.
Do enlighten us on this 900g an hour easy gold farm tho.
